Whether it’s craft beer, creative cocktails or a bottle of wine you’re after, there are countless bars scattered throughout Hong Kong to pick and choose from. With such a range of watering holes on every corner, we thought we’d venture off the streets and to the skies with our pick of the best new rooftop bars that have opened up this year. As the weather starts to (slightly!) cool down, there’s something about enjoying your tipple of choice in the open air and under the stars and city lights.
Treat yourself to an extravagant day out by the beach and head over to Cabana in Repulse Bay. Seafood Room certainly made a statement when it opened at the end of April this year. With extravagant decor and over 8,000 square feet of dining space, this seafood speciality restaurant is a place to see and be seen. Though you can catch incredible panoramic views of Causeway Bay and the harbour from the restaurant, it’s the rooftop terrace that allows for a full, un-interrupted vista. The huge 2,000 square foot roof has plenty of lounge chairs for you to get comfy as you sit back and sip on one of the signature cocktails from mixologist Match Chan, and they even have shisha. It might be expensive here, but it’s worth checking out the stunning harbour view with the girls…

Sick of battling the crowds of LKF? Head to CÉ LA VI‘s rooftop bar to escape the hectic streets and enjoy a cocktail or two amongst the skyscrapers. Occupying the top three floors of California Tower in Lan Kwai Fong, CÉ LA VI boasts a sophisticated SkyBar, Club Lounge and a restaurant. We’re fans of their killer ladies night, ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’, where you can enjoy free-flow vodka cocktails from 10pm onwards.

The Japanese-inspired KOKO by KEE Club is the perfect place to let loose under the city lights. Known for its unique and intimate vibe, KOKO is a contemporary Izayaka (Japanese gastropub) that’s home to some seriously delicious food (before you ask – read our full review). It’s worth mentioning that Hidetoshi Nakata himself partnered up with KEE Club to open KOKO – so keep an eye out for this handsome fella! We love the spacious, open terrace that overlooks the Central Police Station, the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of Wyndham Street. Stop by for sake and snacks with the girls for a sophisticated end to the working day!
