Hidden away in a Chegongmiao basement, this place is essentially the anchor of China’s underground club circuit. It’s got a massive Funktion-One sound system, a dark, stripped-back setup and a lineup that routinely brings in solid international DJs alongside local selectors playing everything from heavy techno to bass.

Sauce – Bass, UK Garage & Hip-Hop Nightclub

If you prefer high-tempo sets and a younger crowd, Sauce is a solid option. Situated in Futian, it caters heavily to the city’s hip-hop, trap and garage crowds. The space feels like a cross between a warehouse and a cyberpunk set, complete with intense LED displays and heavy subwoofers. Expect a stylish, streetwear-heavy crowd that stays out well past 2am.
