Jamie’s Italian: A New Superfood Brunch in Causeway Bay & TST

29 July, 2016

A causal new brunch option

The sound of a new brunch spot is like music to our ears. If you’re as brunch-obsessed as we are, the new weekend brunch menu at Jamie’s Italian (from 11am – 3pm) is definitely worth checking out. With two locations (one in TST and one in CWB), it’s a convenient and casual spot to take friends and family. And who doesn’t love Jamie Oliver?!

Walking into the entrance of Jamie’s Italian, I was greeted by a hostess standing by what seemed like a sea of Jamie Oliver merchandise. From cookbooks to cutting boards, it was everything a diehard Jamie Oliver fan would love (naturally, I had to check out some books!). As I made my way up the escalator of the two-level CWB location, all I could think about was how much food of his delicious food I would be realistically able to eat…

After being seated in a cushioned, orange booth, I grabbed the menu and got to work. Since I was there to try the new brunch, of course I had to check out the breakfast menu, the selection of breakfast cocktails and much-needed coffee options. Safe to say, the substantial selection includes Eggs Benedict,Ham and Cheese Croissants, and Jamie’s famous one-pan breakfasts. Delicious!

Before we started with the food, we sampled a glass of their fresh squeezed orange juice – the perfect sweet, refreshing drink to start the day. The breakfast cocktails looked quite enticing as well (Bloody Marys galore!) and of course, espressos and Americanos are available for those that need their caffeine-fix in the morning!

The new brunch menu has a nice balance of classics dishes and new dishes that are more health-conscious. We tried one of both – the Steak ‘n Eggs and the new Superfood Egg White Omelette.

The classic Steak ‘n Eggs was, as expected, filling and the perfect dish for those who prefer a simple, easy brunch. The dish that really knocked it out of the park though was the Egg White Superfood Omelette. With a variety of pulses and grains paired with cottage cheese, avocado, salsa, and crunchy seeds, this omelette was packed with the best and most nutritious ingredients. As healthy as it was, it was even more delicious to eat. And there’s nothing better than happily chowing down on a dish while knowing it’s good for you!

All in all, Jamie’s Italian’s new brunch menu has something for everyone – it’s super casual, easy and that Superfood Omelette is definitely worth a try. If you have room for dessert, the epic brownie looked utterly divine too! The Tang Lung Street branch of Jamie’s Italian is just a short walk from the Causeway Bay MTR station and Times Square – a great excuse for a bit of retail therapy after!
