Sassy Scoop: Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea at The Langham

For the better part of this year we have been blabbing away about all the things we have been lusting over, or telling you about the fabulous clothes, shoes and accessories we think you should buy so for this Sassy Scoop we are taking a break from all our materialistic desires and instead our attention is on helping make this Christmas a special one for Hong Kong children in need.

Starting this Saturday, The Langham Hotel will be hosting a series of afternoon tea events called “Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea” in support of Mother’s Choice. Mother’s Choice, which happens to be one of our favourite Hong Kong charities, is an organization that provides and promotes loving, nurturing care for babies and children needing permanent homes and for single girls and their families facing crisis pregnancies.

The Langham Hotel is asking all attendees to bring a new and unwrapped gift that can be donated to Mother’s Choice and the following items are at the very top of their Christmas wish list this year:

– Toiletry sets (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel)
– Teddy Bear (under 6 inches tall)
– Newborn Baby clothes
– Newborn diapers
– Newborn strollers (light weight, foldable with carrying straps)
– Baby Carriers (with straps)

We think the tea would be a perfect holiday gathering with your girlfriends (which is what we will be doing!) or if you have little ones at home it would be a great way to teach them about the joys of giving to others during the holiday season. At each tea, there will be a special appearance from Santa as well as story telling and a gift for all children who attend.
