It’s as if we’re on a constant fast-forward here in Honkers, with 2016 absolutely whizzing by. We were huddled up, drinking mulled wine two minutes ago and now we’re suddenly planning our summer junks! But before we hit the sweltering summer, we’ve got plenty of exciting events for you to check out. March into Hong Kong’s art month and snap up tickets to Art Basel, Art Central and the Asia Contemporary Art Show to see all the best art our city has to offer, or celebrate International Women’s Day with a host of charitable events. There are also foodie festivals, flower shows and concerts to check out in what’s looking like an already busy month! Get the diary out – it’s time to start planning your March!

Fans of arguably the most prolific playwright of our time, William Shakespeare, will be pleased to know that there are still tickets left for a dramatic staging of his great historic play, Henry IV (Part II). This year is the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, so what better way to celebrate his genius than by taking in a critically acclaimed performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company? You won’t be disappointed with the stellar performances. Don’t forget to celebrate International Women’s Day this year, Sassy Girls! On Friday, 4 March,  The Women’s Foundation will be hosting a special Gala Lunch with fine wine, delicious food, fabulous raffle prizes and lipstick touch ups from Lancome. To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Eastern Journey by Nicholas II, (the last Russian Tsar!) The Russian Ball will be hosting a historically-themed ‘Romanov’ evening at the Shangri-La hotel. All proceeds raised will go to directly to Hospice Charity fund, Vera for the First Hospice for Children in Moscow.

Hold on to your sides, the unbelievably hilarious, three-time Grammy and Emmy nominated comedian Margaret Cho, is coming to Hong Kong as part of her global Psycho Tour! Shakespeare fans will be pleased to know that another one of his most famous plays is taking the stage in the 852. Tang Shu-Wing brings a dynamic interpretation of the tragic Macbeth, using exciting contemporary production and music. This is one of the highlights of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, so make sure you check it out. Please note the performance is in Cantonese with English subtitles.

We’re big fans of Pinnacle Performance Gym here at Sassy, so we had to share news of their truly awesome event, the Pinnacle Million! They’ve rounded up a small team of 24 male and female Pinnacle athletes to attempt to dead-lift 1,000,000 kilos in just 24 hours. You read that right! This incredible and inspiring initiative is all in aid of the Pinnacle Foundation, an organisation which provides coaching and fitness activities for underprivileged children in the city.
