1. Diptyque Winter Collection
I adore these classy candles… the huge range of heavenly smells and the sleek packaging and branding bring a touch of French sophistication to any home. I can’t wait to indulge in their new, limited edition festive frangrances, which include the Épice, Hiver and Résine candles. All of them have uniquely different scents that are sure to make your home feel even more Christmassy! My personal favourite has got to be the Résine candle, which smells just like a Christmas tree and comes in festive green and gold glass.
The Résine candle is available for $650 for 190g and $350 for 70g at Diptyque, IFC Mall, 8 Finance Street, Central, Hong Kong, www.diptyqueparis.com.
2. Victoria’s Secret ‘Fearless’ perfume
Now, I’m not going to lie – I’m more of a Coco Chanel kind of girl than a Victoria’s Secret girl (well, at least I like to think so!). So I was sceptical before I tried the new scent from this notoriously sexy brand. That being said, ‘Fearless’ smells so good that I now wear it all the time! With notes of blackcurrant, purple diamond iris and orris, it’s the perfect perfume to transition to for winter. I love spirtizing it on in the evening before going out as it gives off a rich, floral fragrance that’s a little more sultry than usual. Plus, we’re all about being fearless!
Available for $718 at their Hong Kong store; Victoria’s Secret, Shop 1037, ifc Mall, 8 Finance Street, Central, Hong Kong, victoriassecrethk.com.
In the Sassy office, we’re loving these silky shirts from Grana, a Hong Kong grown fashion brand that’s recently launched (check out other local designers here). This bright coral shirt that our former That Girl Geneva is rocking is the perfect way to lift your spirits and stand out in the gloomier weather… the material is so soft and falls beautifully, perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to casual jeans or jazzing up that office outfit. I really like Grana’s philosophy too – they’re all about creating wardrobe essentials using the best quality material at the best possible price. Grab yours now or stock up on these fail-safe wardrobe items as Christmas gifts…
4. Emi and Eve Leafbud Ring
Sassy has been a fan of this super cool jewellery brand for a while now, and I’m loving the new Tamarind collection at Polkadot Boutique’s recent Sip’n’Shop. The luxurious gold jewellery is made using recycled bullets and bomb casings from Cambodia, so not only are they creating beautiful designs but they’re also providing economic empowerment to people in need… ethical fashion is the way forward! I love this stunning Leafbud Ring with the sparkly crystal set in the middle, perfect for any outfit and sure to stand out.
5. ASOS Pineapple frame
I know summer’s over, but that doesn’t mean that my love for a certain spiky fruit has to end! Yep, my obsession with pineapples continues… and when I saw this cute little Paperchase Pineapple frame on ASOS I instantly knew that I had to have it. At only $181, it’s a steal and ideal as small gift – perfect for a stocking stuffer or secret santa present!
6. Anna Coroneo Scarf
If you haven’t seen these colourful scarfs by Aussie designer Anna Coroneo, you need to check them out… now. New to Hong Kong, Anna’s creative designs have brought a fresh and funky pop of colour to the shelves of Lane Crawford. Her ‘RETROPOP’ and ‘DAZZLE’ collections are both available and include whimsical, fun prints such as the flamingo design in the collage above. I’m also loving the strawberry and watermelon designs for Spring/Summer 2015 – inspiring! Browse the collections here and see which one’s your favourite…
100% silk scarves are available for $2,650 and the modal scarves are $2,350. Available at Lane Crawford in ifc, Canton Road and Times Square. See all Lane Crawford store locations here, www.annacoroneo.com.
7. Monica Vinader Bali Friendship bracelet
Monica Vinader is a favourite jewellery designer among celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Cara Delevingne, Kylie Minogue and Elle Macpherson, and has a cult following back in the UK. That’s why we’re so excited that ifc has finally opened a Monica Vinader store! That’s right, you’ll be able to buy her unique yet affordable designs right here in HK. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on one of her iconic friendship bracelets like the Pink Fluro ‘Joy’ Bali Friendship Bracelet in the collage above. With a variety of colours and the chance to have a personal message engraved on it, these bracelets are ideal as Christmas gift or birthday present for your BFF.
Hong Kong just keeps getting cooler and cooler… and I’m not just talking about the temperature! Printhouse is a new home-grown creative initiative that is “bringing back the culture of designing and printing your own t-shirt instead of buying off the rack”. Using custom DIY screen printing, Printhouse creates awesome designs that they print onto clothing, and you can even create your own design. I really like the HK Sparrow and Goldfish prints, and it’s a great way to make your clothing more personalised… see you in Stanley!
