Winstons Coffee

With locations in both Sai Ying Pun and Kennedy Town, Winstons is known as one of our favourite spots on the island to grab a coffee. Opening early every day, it’s perfect for a pit stop take away on your morning commute, or head here at the weekends for a relaxed coffee (or something stronger!). Winstons isn’t just a spot for early risers, with a variety of spirits, beers, wines and cocktails also available (including espresso martinis!). There’s even a small food menu of breakfast items and baked goods, and your furry friends are always welcome. The space can also be hired out for private events.

Opening times: Tuesday and Wednesday, 7am to 11pm; Thursday to Saturday, 7am to 12am; Sunday and Monday, 7am to 6pm

% Arabica

Since being founded in 2014 with its first Hong Kong location at the Star Ferry pier in 2017, % Arabica has come a long way. Now with five stores across the city, the Kennedy Town location opened in early 2019 and is ever busy. The two-storey space offers up panoramic views, but most are heading here for an expertly-brewed cup, along with the chance to snap an Insta pic against the iconic wall outside.

The Cofftea Shop

This cute, no-fuss café serves up premium Italian coffee and sandwiches, along with picture-perfect homemade cakes. The queues, which normally form outside, are a testament to just how good the coffee here is! With only one table available inside, it’s best for a takeaway option, just make sure to make the most of the $3 eco-discount when you bring your own cup and grab a slice of carrot cake for the road.

Joint

You can’t miss this simple coffee shop’s striking green exterior. Make sure to pop in and try one of its classic offerings such as long black, flat white and double espresso, though for something a little different, opt for the cold brew + tonic water for your caffeine fix. Along with a small selection of baked goods such as croissants and pain au chocolat, Joint has also recently added a caffe latte panna cotta to its menu. If you’re a loyal customer, you can also get yourself a free coffee after buying 10.

Offering up delectable French pastries, breads and freshly prepared sandwiches, along with great coffee, it’s perfect for a quick pick-me-up at any time of day. For a grab-and-go option, stop by for the express breakfast, which includes a black coffee and a croissant for $30, or $35 for a latte.
