Intrigued by Hong Kong computer centres but too overwhelmed to step inside? We’ve traversed these maze-like malls ourselves to give you the first-hand shopping experience!
I’ll be honest, I would’ve never stepped inside a Hong Kong computer centre if it weren’t for my dad or my husband! I preferred Fortress or Aeon department store because one, it’s not a maze with narrow paths and two, it’s just easier and less overwhelming for the senses.
But did you know you can score decent deals at computer centres? You probably did but were still a little reluctant to step in. Below we’re highlighting the different computer centres in Hong Kong along with top things to purchase and important things to know.

Where Are The Computer Centres In Hong Kong
There are three main computer centres in the city, they all offer similar products but the one in Wan Chai tends to be pricier than its Kowloon counterparts (surprise, surprise?). You can purchase everything from the latest tech to older ones you may no longer find at Apple and Fortress. Plus, you can also customise your computers with your own configurations!
Wan Chai Computer Centre
Located right by Wan Chai MTR Exit A4, the two-storey computer centre is the only one of its kind on the Island side. The first floor houses more home gadgets, smartphones, computers and wearable tech, whereas you’ll find more audio equipment on the second floor.

Golden Computer Centre
Packing every tech product you can think of, Golden Computer Centre in Sham Shui Po has a reputation for being the hub for all gaming products, computers, phones, home gadgets, you name it! The shops here typically open from 12pm and close at around 9pm. The closest MTR exit is D2 (right across the street).

Mong Kok Computer Centre
Divided into three floors, shop computers, mobile phone accessories and gaming consoles on the first floor; cameras, lifestyle gadgets and headphones on the second; TVs, customisable computer shops and more gaming shops on the third. You’ll find that the Mong Kok Computer Centre has slightly larger stores.

Things To Know Before Shopping At A Computer Centre
- It’s much easier to know what specific product you’re after and do your research on www.price.com.hk. Search for the product you want and you’ll find a list of merchants across different computer malls and their price points. The green logo next to the price indicates it comes with warranty, whereas the blue logo means it doesn’t. Then WhatsApp the merchant asking for availability and if they say yes, drop by their shop.
- Bring cash with you as most of the shops in the computer mall charge a small percentage for credit card transactions.
- Prices vary from store to store so have a good look before making your purchase.
- You might also want to bring a big bag (we personally like the big IKEA ones) for storing the products you buy, most shops scramble to find plastic bags.
- Always ask for an original warranty if your product comes with one.
- Keep an eye out for scams, read up reviews on the merchants before making a purchase.
- Most shops open from 11am onwards so don’t go too early in the morning.
- It’s definitely quite a maze and it can be almost impossible to find a washroom.
