We keep going back to Peek-A-Poke for its flavourful bowls. Plus it’s rare to be able to get a seat when you’re having poke, but you’re likely to find a comfortable table if you head to the Peek-A-Poke down in Hysan’s basement food hall and at TST’s trendy Heath shopping mall.

This Kowloonside spot was opened by a group of fitness enthusiasts who know how to put together a good-looking poke bowl. One Poke Rock offers six signature protein-packed poke bowls, with two non-seafood options (the Protein Beast is topped with sous vide chicken while the Wild West features beef cubes). Pair your bowl with a healthy fruit smoothie to round off your meal.

Pololi – Asia’s OG poke bowl chain
Founded a full decade ago, Pololi was first to introduce Hong Kong to the wonderful world of poke and has since been a solid favourite amongst Central dwellers. The poke here is made in small batches throughout the day and served chilled. The menu keeps it fairly simple; choose your base and pick a protein (the ahi tuna is the specialty here) and add on a spam musubi for $20.

Nestled in The Parkside Mall in TKO, KAi Poke Bowl has some unique offerings. The KAi Bowl features a medley of scallops, tiger prawns, octopus, salmon, tuna, and the star ingredient, marinated Hiroshima oysters. You also have the option to add on some interesting side ingredients such as natto (fermented soybeans), okra, pumpkin and mozzarella.

Poke HK – Build-your-own poke bowls in Lan Kwai Fong
This little takeaway shop in Lan Kwai Fong is known for its affordable build-your-own-bowls, but the Poh-Keh house bowl is a fan-favourite and there’s a great vegan option too, featuring mushroom, tofu, seaweed and edamame. And if you usually struggle to finish an entire poke bowl, this spot offers mini-sized bowls between 2:30pm and 5pm.
