The return of the FanWalk at Lee Gardens

Hong Kong’s biggest sporting event of the year is fast approaching, and whilst some are in full on planning mode and getting those costumes ready, some of us are looking for activities to get involved in outside of the stadium. Don’t panic if you didn’t get your hands on tickets, you can still soak up all the live action and more from the stadium with the return of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens FanWalk at Lee Gardens!

Not only will the three-day long festivities include live streaming of the games, there will also be plenty of other live entertainment and activities to enjoy; including street performers, musicians, statue artists, an African drum and dance academy, buskers, comedians and hip hop groups. So, whether you didn’t get tickets to the games, or just don’t fancy the South Stand this year, you’ll still be set for plans for the whole weekend. What’s more, in the heat of the day you’re sure to be needing some refreshments, so make sure to stop into the Sevens Clubhouse upstairs at Seasons, where you can get four Carlsberg beers or two Sacred Hill wines for just $100. Beer and rugby? What could be better! And for that price, we can’t exactly argue…

Along with the FanWalk happening over the Sevens weekend, there will also be a whole host of activities in and around the stadium, leading up to the games itself. The range of activities includes the likes of the Wolfpack Ninja Championship and the E-Sports arena. Get into the spirit of things before the games and enjoy the Easter weekend with the EGGssentially ART! Egglette and Milk Tea festival, or celebrate the Sevens and art month with the StreetMAZE Hunt game, available on the hksevens app. Street art will be popping up around Lee Gardens, so make sure to download the game and collect the QR codes to win prizes.

Finally, the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens sponsors will be hosting a range of fan activation booths. HSBC will be bringing back its well-loved ‘Try Rugby’, located on the fourth floor of Hysan Place, and Cathay Pacific will be encouraging us to ‘Scrum as One’ and give its scrummaging machines a try! That’s not all though, as Cigna will be inspiring us all to ‘Bounce into Life’ with its photo opp stand, Kukri will have a heap of top-of-the-range gear to purchase, Marriott Rewards will be hosting a pop-up restaurant to keep us going throughout the festival, and Coca Cola will be keeping us hydrated at its soft drinks station.
