Hong Kong isn’t always plus-size fashion inclusive, but it’s possible for curvy girls to snag pieces that both fit — and flatter! Here are our favourites.
While Hong Kong may be among Asia’s fashion capitals, the truth behind the glamorous fashion shows and coveted clothing by world-class designers points to the fact that the 852 fashion prioritises those who are thin.
It’s challenging to drop into the Argyle Centre and grab something affordable (the biggest lie you’ll hear is ‘free-size’). If you have a fuller figure, searching for something to wear can be as frustrating as keeping cocktails cold in July. We’ve scouted the streets of Hong Kong (and online stores!) to find fashionable pieces that will help you #slay all day! Whether you’re hunting for summer wardrobe staples, dressing to impress or simply hitting the gym for a quick workout, we’ve got you covered for just about any occasion. After all, fashion is for everyone (and we mean everyone!)!

Fashion Corner Plus – Lai Chi Kok store stocking plus-size clothes
Yes, FCPlus ships worldwide, but it also has a store right here on Castle Peak Road. With sizes ranging up to UK 28 (US 24), it focuses on simple, understated clothing. If you’re looking for something loose and comfortable instead of form-fitting, this Hong Kong brand is certainly the place to try.

Cider – Online store with a huge range of sizes
Cider has cemented itself as a favourite amongst younger generations for its on-trend pieces, and amongst some Sassy Editors for its dedicated Curve section. The site’s wide assortment of sizes start at XXS and go all the way to 4XL. You can shop by mood or occasion and there are always sales and, quite often, absolute steals available. Plus, there’s no shipping fee if you spend over $200, and trust us, it’s not hard to meet that limit!

My Rules – Hong Kong store specialising in plus-size clothes
“You don’t have to be thin to be sexy” & “Size doesn’t define your beauty”, the mottos of My Rules HK. Borne out of a desire to embrace her sexuality with flirty clothing instead of the same loose, dark fits typically seen in plus-size ranges, founder Gloria Tsui decided to cater to the needs of the modern curvy girl with this New Territories store that offers same-day delivery.
My Rules, Room C1, 8/F, Tower 2, Golden Dragon Industrial Centre, 162-170 Tai Lin Pai Road, Kwai Chung, New Territories, Hong Kong, 9612 1107, myruleshk.com
Zalora – Affordable Hong Kong-staple online store for everyone
Zalora boasts a huge collection of plus-size clothing, going all the way up to 6XL (and starting at XXXS so there is truly something for everyone). It is constantly running sales on top of being known for its reasonable prices and on-trend pieces (we’re personally fond of the shoes), so good luck walking away from this retailer without a fully stocked cart.
Sassy Tip: You get free shipping on your first purchase, so you may as well try it out at least once!

H&M – Trendy plus-size clothing both online and in-store
We weren’t thrilled when the large Central store was closed down, but there are still stores standing in HK and the Swedish go-to can still be counted on to find items ranging in US Size 14 to 26. Look here for everything from swimwear and lingerie to dresses and outerwear, knowing they’ll be fashionable and hip.

Marks and Spencer – Range of sizes online and in-store
Although not known for stocking larger sizes in the 852, you can find UK sizes 8 to 26 at Marks and Spencer online (Hong Kong stores cater to clothing sizes up to UK 18 only). But did you know that the pants are categorised by length and width? This means they’re catered for varying heights as well as sizes, making it that much more likely you’ll find a perfect fit!
