TOPSHOP, Whistles, Marks & Spencer, Boots… yep, slowly but surely the UK High Street is starting to wend its way over to Hong Kong, and we couldn’t be happier! Next on the hitlist? River Island!
Before you get too excited, no, River Island isn’t opening a store here just yet *sad face*. BUT their goods are now one step – or should that be click – closer, as a selection of their clothes has just launched on Hong Kong based e-boutique, Zalora!

In case you aren’t familiar with River Island, it’s another style staple of the British High Street – and if you love TOPSHOP, you’re likely to love River Island too! Think fast-fashion at reasonable prices and with a serious cool cachet thanks to Rihanna deciding to design her first clothing line with them.
If that sounds right up your sartorial street, then you should definitely check out Zalora’s neat little range of River Island womenswear, menswear, shoes, bags and accessories, with new items arriving all the time (there are already more than when I first looked – my wallet is panicking as we speak!).

Meanwhile, Zalora offers free shipping for orders over $150 (scarily easy to achieve!), generally delivers in 5-7 working days, has a 15-day return policy and you can even pay for your goods with cash on delivery! Sounds a pretty sweet deal to us – and much better than coughing up an extra ten quid for delivery via River Island direct or waiting over two weeks for stuff to arrive from ASOS (only to find it’s the wrong size anyway!).

Of course, the River Island range at Zalora is still somewhat limited compared to what’s available from both those sites, and I feel like Zalora have concentrated more on River Island’s bright and tight party looks rather than their more casual-cool offerings – but there are definitely some items on Zalora that I didn’t spot on ASOS and prices are pretty much what you would be paying in the UK (separates cost around $200-450, with dresses around $350-600). Plus, I’m now slightly obsessed with the green polkadot dress shown at the top of this post – it must be mine!!!
Fingers crossed that Hong Kong will join the ranks of Singapore with our own River Island store one day… but until then, this will do very nicely thanks!
