We’re big fans of the beach but there’s something extra special about checking in with a day pass to a hotel with a swimming pool that makes us feel totally spoiled. It’s also a great way to save on the cost of a staycation or avoid the stress of travelling abroad, without compromising on comfort and the convenience of amenities. We’re sharing our top picks of hotel swimming pool day passes just in time for you to grab your SPF, bathers and get ready for some poolside pampering.
Grand Hyatt Hong Kong – Tropical hideout in Central
One of Central’s most impressive hotel swimming pools, the Grand Hyatt hits the sweet spot between offering tranquillity and seclusion among a lush garden setting while still being conveniently located in the heart of Hong Kong Island. Summer opening hours run from 8am to 7pm and day passes are available on weekdays ($600 for adults) and weekends and public holidays ($800 for adults).
Harbour Grand Hong Kong – Swim surrounded by epic views
A short walk from Fortress Hill MTR station, the hotel swimming pool at Harbour Grand boasts breathtaking harbour views. A perfect place for visitors to enjoy the “wow” factor of Hong Kong while lolling by the pool between 8am to 8pm, day passes come in at a reasonable $300 on weekdays and $400 on weekends and public holidays.

W Hotel Hong Kong – Contemporary rooftop pool
The W is famous for its creative and artistic space and the swimming pool is no exception, opening from 9am to 10pm for stylish summer lounging. The day pass here is pricier but for good reason with the added benefit of bubbles – indulge in a glass of champagne and use of the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi on weekdays for $750 or $980 on weekends and public holidays (with two glasses of champagne).
Kerry Hotel – Make a splash at the infinity pool
If you’re with a small group and fancy a spontaneous day of poolside fun, you can walk into the Kerry Hotel and purchase a day pass to lap up iconic island views from the other side of town. Adult passes are $500 on weekdays, $700 over weekends and public holidays, and with opening hours stretching from 7am to 8pm, there is plenty of time to pop to Red Sugar for snacks or a cocktail.
The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel – Waterfront luxury
Conveniently located next to Ocean Park, take a dip in the sprawling infinity pool at the recently opened Fullerton during one of their allocated slots on weekdays or weekends/public holidays. Two hours at the hotel swimming pool will cost adults $600 – slots are available from 8am to 10am, 10:15am to 12:15pm, 1:15pm to 3:15pm, 3:30pm to 5:30pm and 5:45pm to 7pm.
The Ritz-Carlton – Sky high swimming
If you prefer to take shelter from those damaging UV rays, the iconic indoor pool at the Ritz-Carlton is for you. It’s open from 11am to 10pm and located on the 118th floor of the hotel, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows framing the sensational views. Adults can buy a day pass – which includes access to the gym and pool jacuzzi – for $750.

The Mira Hong Kong – Best summer bargain
Another indoor option, but for less, is the hotel swimming pool at The Mira where a single day pass costs $500 for adults. As the hotel swimming pool is open from 6:30am to 8pm all week and the pass provides entrance to the gym, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, this is an ideal way to beat the summer heat.

Island Shangri-La Hong Kong – Spacious, swanky swimming pool
Our idea of a delightful day is swimming laps of the hotel pool, open from 7am to 10pm, at the Island Shangri-La and then drying off for lunch and cocktails on one of their sumptuous sun loungers. During weekdays the day pass will set you back $900 and $1,100 on weekends and public holidays – don’t forget to try out their infra-red sauna which is included in the price.
Cordis Hong Kong – Family-friendly hotel swimming pool
Adults and kids are welcome at this oasis of calm in Mongkok to avail of a $500 day pass for unlimited use of the rooftop swimming pool. The pass includes admittance to the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi during weekdays, weekends and public holidays, and all facilities are open from 7am to 9.30pm (closing slightly earlier on Sundays at 7pm).

Club Sienna Discovery Bay – Lantau pool that won’t break the bank
While not a hotel, Club Sienna still gives all the vacation vibes with its stunning sea-facing outdoor pool, open from 7am to 10pm. Residents of Discovery Bay can sign up for club membership, but non-members are able to enter for a fee of $70 and adults and kids can then use the pool for an extra $110 on weekdays and $170 on weekends and public holidays.
