Big news ladies – British high street fashion brand Whistles is coming to Hong Kong!

Yup, it’s another Sassy dream come true! Getting my Whistles fix in the 852 has been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember (since Whistles’ website doesn’t do online shopping, the only previous way to get the goods in HK was via their selection on ASOS), and now my wish has finally been granted! Lane Crawford will be stocking a range of Whistles goodies at all their stores in Hong Kong and China, starting from mid-August (i.e. excitingly soon!).

In case you weren’t already in the loop, Whistles is an amazing British fashion brand led by Jane Shepherdson, the former head honcho at TOPSHOP (and, if all accounts are to be believed, the person that turned TOPSHOP into the fashion force it is today!). Shepherdson whipped the formerly mumsy Whistles into shape, turning it into a sophisticated design-focused brand, filled with totally covetable items in premium fabrics and quality cuts. With the likes of Kate Middleton and Alexa Chung as fans, Whistles is only the third British high street chain to showcase their designs at London Fashion Week – yep, it’s that good!

The thing I love most about Whistles is that whilst they take inspiration from catwalk trends, they’re expert at making them oh so wearable for the everyday. This is grown-up fashion, great for working wardrobes or those of us who know that crop-tops and see-through skirts aren’t really our style! I’d especially recommend their fabulous range of flattering dresses in unusual prints and gorgeous colours, and their beautifully-cut tops that have just the right amount of slouch, whilst their varsity bomber jackets (which you could have personalised with your initials in true collegiate style) were a recent sell-out.

Whistles in the UK sits firmly in the High Street mid-range, with prices similar to Ted Baker, French Connection, Reiss or Club Monaco. In Hong Kong, we’ve been told to expect similar – prices will range from $430 for a tee to $4,310 for a leather jacket. So yes, a bit more expensive than Zara but totally worth it. These items are definitely good enough to last for the long run in your wardrobes!

The first Whistles clothes to hit Lane Crawford will be from their Autumn Winter 2013 Collection (which you can see above!), and Lane Crawford will be carrying a selection of 65 styles from the range. Fingers crossed that if we all flock there and shop out their Whistles stock, they’ll bring over even more items in the future. I can’t wait!

Whistles will be available at all Lane Crawford stores in Hong Kong; see full locations here
