While Christmas dining traditionally brings images of juicy roasted turkeys, honey-glazed hams and meaty stuffings to mind, there are still plenty of seasonal dining options for those that don’t eat meat. To save you the leg work, we’ve rounded up the best vegetarian and vegan festive menus available this Christmas. From all-out plant-based fine dining, to hearty fare with a veggie twist, here’s where to eat out (meat free!) this holiday season.

Nectar

Looking for a high-end plant-based feast this festive season? At Nectar, Chef Peggy Chan will be presenting three special holiday tasting menus. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the restaurant will offer a Five-Course Seasonal Tasting Menu, along with a Three-Course Christmas Day Brunch. All tasting menus come with a glass of natural sparkling wine or a warming cup of house-made mulled wine. Tempting dishes include Christmas stuffing dolmades; shaved brussel sprout waldorf salad; pot au pumpkin pie; and a Christmas Dinner Pie, with braised cabbage, tofu sausage stuffing, morel mushroom duxelles, truffle cream and cranberry sauce. As well as the Christmas set menus, Nectar will be serving a festive a la carte menu.

Three Blind Mice vegetarian christmas

Three Blind Mice

Three Blind Mice is a great option throughout the festive period. Not only does the cosy Wan Chai restaurant serve up a cracking festive spread (and free-flow drinks!), but veggies can enjoy the feast too! When making your booking, be sure to request the special vegetarian wellington, which comes complete with veggie gravy in place of the traditional turkey one. Expect all the trimmings still, including roast potatoes, red cabbage, mashed potatoes and assorted veg. Plus, desserts of blackberry and apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding, and classic mince pies.

Felix at The Peninsula, Hong Kong

If you’re looking for a little luxury to end your year on a high note, there are few better options than The Peninsula, Hong Kong. And if you’re looking for a vegetarian feast that is sure to wow, Felix is where to book in to. With vegetarian menus available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, head up to the 28th floor to enjoy dishes such as pumpkin ravioli with black truffle, saffron risotto with winter vegetable ragu, and a special dessert of “Christmas pudding flavours”.

Feather & Bone vegetarian christmas menu

Butcher and deli, Feather & Bone may be known for serving up premium meat, but this Christmas it’s also offering a special vegetarian sharing menu! Available throughout the month of December, starters include charred baguettes, burrata, and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese. Taking the place of the classic roast turkey, the main features roast pumpkin, along with a porcini and walnut risotto, accompanied by brussel sprouts, creamy mash and more! Finish up your sharing feast with a traditional Christmas pudding with eggnog custard, along with cheeses, crackers and honeycomb.

BEDU

Offering a special Christmas with Corey menu on Christmas Day, BEDU is using fresh and seasonal ingredients along with Middle Eastern spices to bring us a Bedouin festive feast. Sharing starters include smoky hummus, garlic labneh with za’atar, and a preserved peach and halloumi salad. And though a main course of saffron and thyme whole-roasted spatchcock is up for grabs, vegetarians can opt for the “Zucchini Three Ways”. A choice of either Christmas-spiced dark chocolate pudding, or light and fresh raspberry sorbet finishes off the veggie-friendly meal.

BEDU vegetarian christmas menu

The Globe

Much like Three Blind Mice, The Globe is also serving a traditional Christmas dinner with a veggie twist. As part of the three-course set lunch or dinner, vegetarians can tuck into the mushroom and puy lentil pate starter, which is followed up by a vegan roast with roast potatoes, carrots, peas, brussel sprouts, parsnips, cranberry relish, and a chestnut bread sauce. For $495 for dinner, or $420 for lunch, diners can also enjoy a sticky toffee pudding dessert, along with cheese, crackers and pickle to finish.

Beef & Liberty

While it may not be the most festive offering around town, Beef & Liberty is still catering to the vegetarians this season. Meat-eaters will be opting for the Special “Sweet Baby Cheesus” Burger, but the veggies in the group need not miss out with the veggie-friendly Impossible meat version! Beef & Liberty’s popular falafel burger will also be on the menu. Veggie starters include corn off the cob and cherry tomato salad. To get you in the holiday spirit, the Warm Christmas Skillet Cookie is sure to do the trick! Free-flow packages are also available upon request.
