ClassCruiser – Over 100 Studios To Get You Fighting Fit + Win a 10 Day Pass!

27 October, 2015

Cruise Hong Kong’s best gyms and trainers every month.

So what is ClassCruiser? It’s the latest multi-gym class pass to hit Hong Kong. One $899-per-month pass gives you access to more than 100 gyms and trainers around Hong Kong, with classes spanning all types of fitness in neighbourhoods all over the city. You can cancel any time before your next billing cycle.

The catch(es):

  • You can only visit any one studio three times in one month, and yes, that is three times across multiple locations of the same gym.
  • A late cancel, within 12 hours, is an automatic $149 charge. A no show is a $199 charge and it counts as one of your three visits to that studio.

My trial of this coincided with the start of Trailwalker training in earnest and a knee injury, so I stuck to the gentler offerings but cannot wait to give some of the other classes a go.

Some of my favourites:

Jnana Meditation at Balance Health in Central

I love yoga and practice frequently but I am the WORST at savasana. Sitting still has never been my strong point so I loved the idea of a guided meditation class on my lunch break to take a real breath in the middle of the day. I’ve been to Balance Health before and loved every service I’ve tried there and the meditation session was no different. My guide, Linda, led me through three different methods of entering a state, focusing not on stopping every thought from passing through but just allowing it to do so without following it along. She can probably explain it better than I can and you should definitely go let her!

Hot Flow at Amico Studio in Wan Chai

Amico Studio is tucked away on the third floor of a building on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai, offering yoga and dance classes. I’ve tried Hot Flow and Warm Vinyasa and loved the small class sizes and attentive teachers.

HIIT Blast at Flex Studio in Aberdeen

I’m already a Flex convert for their pilates and barre classes but I hadn’t tried their High Intensity Interval Training session before. I’d also never checked out their Southside studio. I loved the dynamic circuit class using weights, TRX, bodyweight and cardio bursts to move through a full body work-out in their bright, high-ceilinged studio with a wall of windows overlooking Aberdeen.

Fiji Fitness in Hong Kong Park

My office is in Pacific Place so a lunchtime boot camp session in Hong Kong park is just perfect for my schedule. Trainer Marc led me through a mix of boxing, bodyweight and core exercises making me feel so justified in the giant sandwich I bought on my way back to the office.

JAB’s Lunchtime Sessions

I learned how to box at JAB and already know I love the gym. Their lunchtime fitness sessions are my favourite when I can get into Central on my lunch break. Located just across from The Center building, JAB has incredible trainers that will take you through a range of interesting and engaging workouts using heavy ropes, kettle bells and more.

On my wish list:

  • Hoop at Pole Paradise in Sheung Wan
  • Flyoga with Aerial Arts Academy at Yoga Bam Bam
  • Punjabi Funk at DanzXtreme in Sheung Wan
  • Anything at Joint Dynamics (coming soon)
  • Bounce Limit (a rebounding studio) in Sheung Wan
