  1. Lavar has the worst customer service. They are completely fine until they have to deal with a complaint. First, they will ignore your issue for the longest time. The manager Rachel will raise her voice at you and the Managing Director Anna will refuse to apologize for their flaws.

  2. My wife and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and had a romantic trip to celebrate coming up real soon. So while I was in Hong Kong for business I decided I would get some unwanted body hair removed via waxing.

While searching online I came across this article on Sassy. I liked what I read about Nude Beautique and saw that they had a 30% off promotion for first time visitors. Seeing as I had never been here before (in fact I had never had waxing done at all anywhere before) I figured I would give it a try. I signed up on their website and booked an appointment. Because of the promotion I decided to have three body parts waxed. The three body parts had three different prices. For the purpose of this review I will call them the low price, middle price, and high price body parts.

Upon arrival I was given the standard information form to fill out and then led to a treatment room. I was presently surprised with how nice the place looked. It was obvious they had taken great care to build an upscale facility.

Once in the treatment room the lady performing the service advised that they wouldn’t be able to do the “middle priced” body part because I had some skin peeling in that area from a recent sunburn. I was told that once the peeling stopped to come back to get that part done. We proceeded with the other two body parts.

The actual waxing session itself was about as good as can be expected. Waxing isn’t a pleasurable experience because of the pain, but she did a good job of making me feel comfortable. The whole session lasted about an hour and I headed to the cashier to pay and that is where it got bad.

I was handed a bill that didn’t include the 30% off promotion for first time visitors. They adjusted the bill but would only apply the discount to the lowest priced body part fee. Ironically, that was the body part that I wanted waxed the least but I decided to get it done because of the promotion. The part that I went there for was the highest price body part. The lady at the counter made a phone call to a manager who refused to apply the discount as explained on their website. I tried to explain nicely that had I have known I would have never got the lower priced body part done and only done the high priced one. They didn’t care and there was nothing they were going to do about it. I felt so upset. I even explained to the lady at the cashier that they were taking a very good experience and turning it really bad at the end. She didn’t care. I asked for a manager but they said there was no manager in to speak with today and that she wouldn’t call her manager back. I paid and left. I won’t return on my next visit to Hong Kong.

Based on how upset I was with all of the above I would have giving this place a rating of one out of five, however I chose to give it a rating of two because if it wasn’t for the horrible customer service at the end I would have given it a four or five.

  3. Whatever you do – do not got to Glowre! Bad service and terrible management. Laser hair removal treatment still not working after 8 sessions. Total waste of time money! Plus the most frustrating experience!!
