Electric with Elysian Bridal Couture

Once you enter this boutique, you’ll be greeted with an overwhelming collection of wedding dresses packed in on one side of the room. The room looks a bit small at first, but it has more than enough space with not one, but two fitting areas on the other side of a small hallway. Opened in 2012, Elysian Bridal Couture is a place where you can see the most eclectic collection of international bridal designers – more so than any other boutique we’ve been to.

First, you’ll be handed their iPad to see which dresses you want to try on. It’s so much more convenient than looking through a book, since they have so many dresses. Even with an iPad, it took a while to look through all of them.

The assistants are very kind and very, very patient. We were trying on a few dresses and when we thought we’d overstretched their kindness, they insisted on showing us different styles of gowns! Two assistants helped us through several gowns professionally and met all our needs in terms of questions and getting different ideas.

Blush by Hayley Paige
This lovely dress is Blush by Hayley Paige, which is new to Hong Kong. This slim ivory silk dress is extremely comfortable to move in and the lace illusion straps hanging on your shoulders add to the elegance. The peek-a-boo slit adds a bit of sensuality, making this dress stand out from others.

The one is another one from Blush by Claire Pettibone. Elysian Bridal is actually the first bridal boutique to bring the brand to the city and are super excited about it! The designer instantly got famous after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s wife Priscilla Chan wore it on her wedding day. This dress in particular is more like a ball gown, but the puff isn’t too unmanageable. Her dresses are very comfortable and light, even with all the layers. The beads on the shoulders can even be removed after alteration. There’s even more coming in from Claire Pettibone this season at Elysian, so better make a note of it!

The collection continues with St. Patrick, White by Vera Wang, and so much more. They have variations of different silhouettes, colours, and back designs. They definitely have something for everyone. Right now, Freya Rose shoes collection is held exclusively in Hong Kong at Elysian so check it out if you want a pair of cream-coloured heels to match your dress!

With over 80 pieces in the shop, Elysian bridal does both rental and sales. So if you don’t feel like keeping your dress after the big day, but still want a stunning dress, this boutique’s the place for you. Plus, there’s also no fee or limit for trying on dresses (yay!).

This small but comfortable area is definitely one of the stops to make if you don’t have an idea of what you want yet and need a variety of choices. The quiet space and welcoming staff is wonderful, we weren’t uncomfortably bombarded with recommendations or questions as they let you figure it out slowly with them. We would say it’s a good place to start your wedding dress hunt as we entered with no idea of what we wanted, but left with a clear vision of what we liked and disliked. You’ll definitely leave with something you (and your bridesmaids) want without breaking your bank.

Wedding dresses, evening gowns, and bridesmaids dresses are in the range of $12,000-$111,000, alteration included. Rental is around $6,000-$9,000.
