If you’re looking for somewhere that is equal parts chic and laidback, then Momentai is the place. A beautiful space on the Sai Kung waterfront, Momentai has a relaxed attitude with beautiful finishes, even finding (literal) light in their post-typhoon infrastructure. Independently owned by Sai Kung locals, this stunning indoor-outdoor space invites you in with their impressive food & beverage menu, but it’s those views that will keep you just that little while longer. Plus it’s constantly changing their Happy Hour items to keep you coming back for more!

When: Monday to Friday, 3pm to 7pm
Where: Kiosk 1, Sai Kung Waterfront, Wai Man Road, Sai Kung
How much: Hong Kong made craft beers for $50, imported craft ciders for $50, Gin and Tonics for $38-$48 and wines and sparkling wines from $50-$60. You’ll also find rotating reduced prices on delicious snacks, like Japanese Fried Chicken for $58, Sweet Potato Tater Tots or Crispy Camembert bites for $48 and Cake of the Day for $50.

Tikitiki Bowling Bar

Tikitiki is no stranger to fun. Bright colours, exotic drinks and a vibrant energy are all wrapped in funky beats and good vibes. Plus, did we mention it’s a bowling bar? Yup, a bowling alley that’s built for a tropical party (complete with live music). Tikitiki is an awesome spot for big groups, families and those who just want to let their hair down and have a good time while indulging in the rich flavours of island life. It runs daily happy hours that cater to everyone’s needs and a serious deal that shells out oysters for just $10 a pop!

When: Monday to Thursday all day reduced prices and Friday until 6pm; Friday from 6pm, Saturday and Sunday from 3pm for $10 oysters

The Picture House

There is a sense of nostalgia to The Picture House, a sense of comfort and familiarity that welcomes you into this Sai Kung watering hole. Reinvigorating what used to be the local cinema, The Picture House boasts the only urban beer garden in the area, making for cosy afternoon kickbacks that turn into fezzy night owl adventures, especially with their various happy hour specials throughout the week. And as part of Enoteca Group, you know you’re guaranteed quality dishes and great service (and even a Sunday roast!).

When: Monday to Friday, 11am to 7:30pm; Weekends 3pm to 7:30pm

How much: Reduced prices on selected drinks. Plus, Mondays $25 Prosecco and Wednesdays $40 Gin and Tonics.

But if you are hoping for something a little more put together that serves up delectable food in the heart of Sai Kung, then Padstow might just be your spot. Top quality food, great service and a weekday Happy Hour make this little hotspot a local favourite. Padstow is seaside-chic at its most relaxing, and that rooftop dining terrace doesn’t hurt either. Treat yourself to panoramic harbour views and delicious fare at this Sai Kung gem.

How much: $38 bottled beers and house red and white wines and $58 prosecco. They also run different diner specials during the week, including their ‘Love Lobster’ deal (50% off every Wednesday).

It’s not often that franchises sustain their original quality but Classified feels familiar and fresh all at the same time, especially the chilled out seaside branch in Sai Kung. Classified just does it right, from the famous meatballs to the infamous Happy Hour, this is a place that has found a winning formula. Did someone say $30 drinks and delish bar bites for under $50 every day? Hold the door, we’re coming in hot!
