Mimosas to Martinis: Where to Drink in Hong Kong this May

10 May, 2018

Cheers to these drink specials in the 852!

The weather’s getting steamy in the city, so there’s no better time to get out there and enjoy some of the best beach bars that the 852 has to offer. Yes, we’re still mourning the soon-to-be loss of Mavericks’ from Pui O beach (where will we get our post-hike beers now), but that just means we’ll have to find new places to pitch up for the weekend! In between sipping on Aperol Spritz in the sun, we’ve found a few new drinks specials and happy hour deals – sure to come in handy for the end of May public holiday. Join us?

If you’re the indecisive type and are never sure what to order, you’ll love the sound of aqua’s new Personality Pours! The off-menu cocktail concept is set to shake up the Hong Kong cocktail scene, asking bar-goers to tap into Facebook to find their own perfect Personality Pour by answering eight simple questions. Available from now until the end of August, the menu features eight hand-crafted cocktails, including the gin-based Visionary for strong minded individuals, the crimson-coloured Trendsetter for the pack-leaders out there and The Rebel, just the thing for unpredictable types.

65 Peel

Have you heard about 65 Peel’s fab new deal? If you’re a dog owner in the city, you’re going to want to head down to the Peel Street bar, as on Sunday through Thursday, from 4pm to 8pm, if you bring your furry friend along for a drink, you’ll be able to claim one free beer! Not a dog owner? Don’t let the lack of a free drink stop you from heading down and befriending some loveable pooches.

If Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martinis are you’re thing you’re going to want to know all about this deal. Not technically a new offering (but still hard to beat in this expensive city!), head to this SYP local and enjoy drinks for just $50 a pop every Monday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm. The best part? Head here on the weekend and enjoy the deal all day long! Rock up for brunch and stay for the afternoon, we say…

Three Blind Mice

A favourite of ours in the Wan Chai area, and with a great happy hour is Three Blind Mice. Running from 5pm on weekdays and 12pm on weekends, it’s the place to know if you’re interested in some day drinking – perfect for this time of year! Bottled beers are priced at $30, with prosecco, wine and spirits costing just $50 a glass, though we can’t get enough of our favourite summer drink, Aperol Spritz, and priced at just $190 for a pitcher it’s perfect for sharing (or not).
