Bright and Breezy Al Fresco Dining

Shek O Chinese and Thai Seafood
303 Shek O Village, Shek O – 2809 4426

A bit out of the way, but has a very devoted following – not a fancy restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s nothing better than rolling off the beach and washing down their delicious nosh with a cold beer on a hot, summer afternoon….

Good Luck Thai
13 Wing Wah Lane, Lan Kwai Fong – 2877 2971

Located up the (we hope) affectionately named Rat Alley just off LKF, our pals rave about the barbequed pork chunks (we think they mean pork neck) and yellow massaman curry. Try #413 – minced pork with chillis – delish.

Top Deck
Top Floor, Jumbo Kingdom, Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen – 2552 3331

This is a very sexy sunspot – despite being in Aberdeen! Definitely feels like you could be lounging on the roof of a yacht in the Med – and the food aint half bad either.

The Stoep
G/F 32 Lower Cheung Sha Village, Lantau Island – 2980 2699

Go at the right time and you’ll have the near-pristine beach virtually to yourself. Love the South African BBQ fare and totally chilled out atmosphere…a bit of a hike, yes, but sometimes you just gotta get out of the city when cabin fever starts to set in. Try the sangria – cheers!

UG/F Beach Building, Deep Water Bay, Island Road – 2812 2226

Prawns to die for. We love the Frenchy-Mediterranean cuisine but just wish they’d change the menu!! That said, we still can’t help ourselves – come summer, you’ll find us coming back here again and again.
