La Maison Goutal’s Flagship Asian Store Is Now Officially Open

Prepare to be transported to Paris as you step inside the elegant perfume house!

Luxury French fragrance brand, GOUTAL, is bringing some Parisian chic to Causeway Bay with the opening of its Asian flagship on Paterson Street. For those of you unfamiliar with GOUTAL, the perfume house first burst onto the scene in 1981 and hasn’t looked back since. It was the brainchild of pianist-turned-perfumer Annick Goutal. She believed that every fragrance should tell a story and evoke emotions. That legacy that has been carried on by Annick Goutal’s daughter, Camille, and remains central to the brand’s ethos today.

We all know how important choosing a perfume can be – just because something smells amazing on your friend, doesn’t mean it will on you! That’s why GOUTAL believes choosing a scent should be about much more than simply how it smells in the bottle. You should pick something that sparks imagination and awakens all your senses. It’s no surprise that the brand has a large celebrity following, who have fallen in love with its delicate fragrances. In fact GOUTAL’s very first creation, which remains its bestseller today, was Eau d’Hadrien (which is packed full of refreshing citrussy notes). It’s Leonardo DiCaprio’s signature scent, and Madonna is a fan too (she also wears Gardenia Passion). And Benedict Cumberbatch has admitted his favourite fragrance is Eau d’Monsieur (perhaps one to keep in mind for those difficult-to-buy-for men in your life this Christmas!).

So now we’ve set the scene, here’s what you need to know about GOUTAL’s brand new store which has now officially opened to the public. The eagle-eyed among you may have already been drawn to its elegant facade in Causeway Bay, but pressing your nose up against its windows like a kid in a sweet shop is as far as you’ll have got! That’s because the store has been in soft-launch mode since August, meaning it was only open to VIPs and invited guests. But now the wait is over and you can finally check out the 3,000 square foot space for yourself. We challenge you not to lose yourself in its enticing surroundings! There are three Story Gardens (where customers are invited to learn about the narrative behind each scent), as well as a Sensory Lounge and a gorgeous gifting zone. We guarantee it’s impossible to walk out empty-handed!
