Festive Fun in Aid of Cancer Research

The holiday season is creeping closer and there are plenty of events already filling up the calendar. With so many events and parties, it can be hard to choose which ones to schedule in… but if there’s one you need to make time for, it’s the Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s Stride for a Cure!

Forgo those extra mince pies and join Hong Kong Cancer Fund, the largest cancer support organisation in the city, for a walkathon on Sunday, 18 December in Tai Tam. Not only will it be a nice change from the endless (and often excessive!) feasting and drinking, but of course it will all be in aid of a great cause. With the aim to raise $3 million for local cancer research projects, this will definitely be the most worthwhile event of the season – after all, isn’t helping others what the holiday season is really about?

Sadly, thousands of people in our city are battling cancer and the goal of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund is to make sure they don’t face cancer alone. Apart from free support and information, HKCF also offers public education, cancer research, home care, peer support, complementary therapies, funding of hospital equipment and more. All services are free, but without funding from the government or Community Chest, the HKCF rely on the generosity of donations from the public to keep up their much-needed work. That’s where we come in, Sassy Girls!

Get a group of mates together or round up your colleagues, don an elf hat and your cheesiest Christmas jumper and head over to Tai Tam for a day of festive fun! Simply register here with a donation (and do it quick, as there are only spots for 2,500 participants) and enjoy. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a walk in Hong Kong’s Tai Tam Country Park and donate to a wonderful cause. Your money will go towards several cancer research projects including the prevention of Colorectal Cancer in high risk families through ongoing genetic screening, clinical trials of MVA EBV vaccines, multi-gene mutation-drug matching for recurrent Ovarian Cancer patients in Hong Kong and more.

So what are you waiting for? Register now and we’ll see you there!
