Who else is loving the change in Hong Kong weather? That little bit cooler, that little bit breezier… yes, autumn is well on its way!
It’s time to put away the sunnies, the shorts and the sandals and start getting dressed for cooler (well… ok, slightly cooler) climes – so we’ve put together our Sassy Fall Wishlist, a few of our favourite things that we’re hoping find their way into our wardrobes in time for the new season. Here’s hoping you find some autumnal inspiration too!
Electric blue might not be the most winter-y of colours, but the wide collar plus sleek silhouette on this Ted Baker Coat is just too much for me to resist! Maybe the neon colour will stop me from getting run over weaving in-between Sheung Wan traffic?!
Since I upgraded my phone, I’ve been looking for a decent sized clutch that will be able to accommodate my ever-growing mobile (why are phones getting bigger, not smaller these days?!). This Ted Baker Floom Clutch Bag should do the trick, plus the floral print will also keep me in my summer state of mind!
I blame reading too many Mallory Tower books and watching Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts in Stepmom playing in autumn leaves for my crazy desire to experience four proper seasons! However, in Hong Kong, the only way I can really make myself feel like it’s fall is by changing my wardrobe! This Mademoiselle Tara Dress is my pick for Autumn 2013 – and if I pair it with some tights and my tan leather boots, it might just work for the ‘Hong Kong Winter’ too!
Apart from Starbucks’ Salted Caramel Mocha, these Vintage Style Pearl Earrings are definitely my fall favourite. I know I can just keep them in my bag and pop them on at 6pm to make any outfit suitable for happy hour drinks – the holiday party season is coming up, after all!
As the mercury begins to drop here in Hong Kong and some of us think about returning home to cooler climes for Christmas, we could all do with a fabulous party winter warmer up our sleeves. Enter Arrogant Cat’s Pearl Embellished Black Knitted Dress with a deep V back – wear it as a dress or team with black leather skinnies for a more laidback party vibe.
…And if you’re worried about carrying off that deep V back, try Fashion Form’s Nu Ultralite Bra with its backless and adhesive ‘invisible’ design.
Oversize coats are HUGE for fall (pun intended)! I love the three quarter length sleeves on this ASOS Slouch Coatigan, which work well not only in Hong Kong where it never really gets that cold, but also in real winter weather elsewhere where you can just add fab long length leather gloves! This coat works over light-as-air slip dresses or big chunky knits – now when-oh-when will it be truly cold again?!
An easy way to jazz up any look for winter is to add a metallic shoe! These MANDEM Pointed Loafers would look great with everything from your basic dark skinny jeans to a pleated plaid midi skirt, plus they’re perfect for adding pizzazz to all those dark tones we gravitate to in the cooler months. Shine on, you Sassy lady! (P.S. Grrrr… I wrote this, then saw ASOS had a size 11 in stock and have ordered them aleady! This blogging thing gets me in trouble every time!)
I am a firm believer that ASOS should have a category called “Dresses with Sleeves” – instant bingo wing remover! With cooler weather on the horizon, my much-loved dresses with sleeves become far easier to find, and this ASOS Animal Print Midi Dress is top of my list.
My bouts of homesickness are pretty infrequent (…sorry Mum) but if I do ever feel a longing for Blighty, this cute Talented Totes London Shopping Bag should tide me over until my next trip AND give me a touch of the cool Britannia factor to boot!
Call me a typical Brit, but autumn is my fave clothing season… I just can’t get enough of this season’s scarves, boots and of course, a new jacket or two! This classic Mango Quilted Leather Biker Jacket will pair perfectly with my new skinnies, but should also toughen up my floaty summer dresses – just add a pair of thick tights for instant fashion recycling!
Having previously been lucky enough to try out the Rodial Glamoxy Snake Venom Facial at the W Hong Kong’s Bliss Spa, I’m all over this Rodial Glamoxy Snake Kit to give my skin a little seasonal boost. Ssspectacular (groan)!
It’s time to layer it up as fall starts coming in! This cute Little White Lies Pinafore Dress will definitely match all those lighted colored blouses I have lying around the house.
I have such a weak spot for quirky, edgy accessories and this Me Zena Pencil Bangle is definitely on my wishlist. This will go with any simple blouse and sweater combination – perfect for those chilly autumn days in cosy coffee shops!
