Dining hotspot BaseHall brings us a taste of Mexican tradition and flavour this May with a zestful fiesta to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. BaseHall vendors Westside Taqueria, Roti Tori, Mayo Silk and Honbo will be pulling out all the stops for the festival, creating exclusive Mexican-inspired dishes that will only be available on the day. Pub 1842 and BaseHall Bar will also be delivering themed tipples all day long. Salud! And from 6pm, Mariachi Fiesta and DJ Gia Fu will take to the stage to provide a playlist of soulful Latin tunes.

Tai Kwun Contemporary’s latest exhibition will see the white cube space transformed into an ever-evolving interactive environment that will host a number of activities and experiences. The multi-sensory exhibition features more than 20 newly commissioned works from international artists and will unfold over several episodes, on-site and online, through to December.

Relax and surrender yourself to the serene surrounds of Sai Kung with a weekend of yoga and sound meditation. Presented by the Along the Edge Arts Festival, Night Market is a series of short dance films that celebrates cultural diversity and questions how we see, create and discover our own cultural identities from the artists’ perspectives as Third Culture Kids. Choreographed and directed by Kelsey Ang, this international collaboration between dance, music and film integrates a mix of contemporary dance movement, remixed Cantonese disco music and songs inspired by Southeast Asian upbringings.

Traditionally held at Central Harbourfront, this annual contemporary art fair returns in full force but at a different location. This year, the works of distinguished artists from around the world will be displayed at the Convention and Exhibition Centre which you are invited to view within a limited-capacity two-hour session. This sixth edition will feature gallery presentations, large-scale installations, sculptures, curated booths and more.

Presented in honour of Hong Kong Dance Company’s 40th anniversary is this stunning new work directed and choreographed by HKDC’s award-winning Artistic Director Yang Yuntao. In this so-called “dance poem”, dancers’ bodies will act as moving brush strokes that combine to create a living shan shui (or landscape painting) of mountains and water.
