British High Street favourite Marks & Spencer has totally upped the style ante for this fall and holiday season! Just one glance at their latest lookbook and I was drooling over their newest items… Then I had the chance to sit front row at the M&S runway show and see these goods stride before me firsthand, and there and then I knew I had to let you in on my finds! However, I should warn you that after you read this post, you may find your credit card in hand ready to make a mad dash for the shops – so go ahead and put that taxi number on speed dial so he can be ready to take you on your M&S shopping spree!
Forget about the fusty, old-fashioned M&S of old; this year, M&S has developed five enticing themes for their FW13 Collection – Modern Elegance, London Calling, Wild Opulence, Femme Fatale, and Dark Drama. Each is made up of a series of coordinating looks to take you from day to night looking perfectly put together! They teamed up with four bloggers, myself included, to show you just how easy it is to wear these new items for this fall…
Modern Elegance showcases a host of black and white graphic options that make easy go-to basics. Check out blogger (and former That Girl!) Elle Lee riding the Star Ferry in style with her rendition of this theme. My favourite piece is the plaid coat that would look just as stunning as it does on the catwalk outfit as it would with rolled-up boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt!
If you are mad for plaid then you should scoop up the London Calling collection! Be sure to also note the awesome leather jackets and leopard prints in this theme. Blogger Emily Wordsworth, along with a few models from the runway, showed us how to rock a downtown chic vibe for everyday; I love the little leather cap and could definitely see that topping more than a few fall ensembles. Goodbye bad hair days!
Wild Opulence is my personal favourite of the options. This motif is all about mixing your prints and furs. Nervous about pairing that snakeskin bag with a leopard dress? Go for it! Just take a look at how fab that leopard-on-leopard look is above!
Pink coats are all over the streets, blogs, magazines and now, the shops for fall. In the Femme Fatale collection, you will find this gorgeous pink coat that is meant to be paired with anything from animal prints, to black and white, to even a wild red hue! Former That Girl Jasmine Webster shows us how to take on the town while mixing these girly hues into something so much stronger.
Finally, Dark Drama is for those nights where you need more than your typical LBD to take things up a notch. Lace dresses, mesh sleeves and retro cuts turn the wearer into a force to be reckoned with – just try to blend in while wearing this velvet and lace number! Head straight to this collection for some holiday party dress inspiration; simply pair these pieces with a gorgeous statement necklace and prepare to make a scene!
Hurry over to Marks & Spencer now, as these items are already in store and sure to fly off the racks soon! Thanks to M&S, you can dress head to toe in one theme or mix and match to create your own signature look… After all, aren’t women a mélange of motifs anyway?!
