Did someone say beach day? From the secluded hamlet of Tai Long Wan to the popular shores of Repulse Bay, we’re not short of beautiful waterfronts to enjoy here in Hong Kong. And now there’s another to add to your list: Lung Mei Beach in Tai Po. Stretching 200 metres long, the man-made stretch of sand and sea sits next to Tai Mei Tuk and the Plover Cove Reservoir. Facilities

The new beach comes with brand new facilities, including changing rooms, shower facilities and toilets. Lifeguard services will also be available from 9am to 6pm daily between April and October; services will be extended from 8am to 7pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during peak season from June to August.

How To Get To Lung Mei Beach

It may be located all the way in the New Territories but don’t worry, Lung Mei Beach is well serviced by a number of public transport options. Simply take any of the following buses (all start from the bus terminus outside the Tai Po Market Station MTR):

  • Bus No. 75K (daily)
  • Bus No. 275R (available on Sundays and public holidays only)
  • Green minibus No. 20C (daily)

Alight at the Lo Tsz Tin stop and walk about two minutes to the beach.
