The 2018 Sulwha Culture Exhibition is a must visit for style and beauty junkies looking to explore a new city and learn all about the spirit and culture of Korea.

One of the best things about living in Hong Kong is its close proximity to other amazing countries, and when we have spare time, we love to jet off and explore a whole new city. One of our favourites – that just so happens to be a mere three-and-a-half hour flight away – is Seoul. Located in South Korea, Seoul is famed for its incredible food, culture and so much more, not to mention its globally renowned beauty brands, one of which is Sulwhasoo. If you’re a lover of the brand, are looking for a weekend getaway, and are keen to learn all about the spirit and culture of Korea, the 2018 Sulwha Culture Exhibition is a must visit. Taking place from now until 14 December, the exhibition promises to be an oriental fantasy, overflowing with auspicious energy. Keen to know more? Read on to find out all you need to know.

Sulwha Culture Exhibition 2018

As a brand, Sulwhasoo embodies Korean spirit and culture about style and beauty. Around for over 50 years, with the brand opening its first Hong Kong store in 2004, a core message is its belief in harmonising the traditional with the modern. Its products raise awareness about the value of the aesthetics and practicality found in the traditional Korean culture, and Sulwhasoo is dedicated to carrying on and supporting Korean traditions. This message is exemplified through the brands annual Culture Exhibition, which promotes the true beauty of Korea and enhances its artistic value by reinterpreting traditional culture with a modern perspective.

The 2018 Sulwha Cultural Exhibition is titled FORTUNE LAND – Gold Leaf, and aims to highlight and reconstruct the beauty of tradition and its significance with traditional Korean gold leaf craft in a contemporary context. The exhibition will present new artworks by 12 contemporary artists and teams who work with the Korean traditional gold leaf technique, along with three works by traditional gold leaf masters.

The diverse spectator-participatory works will all reinterpret the aesthetic sense of traditional gold leaf art in contemporary ways based on the theme “amusement park”, and are sure to stimulate all five senses with its dynamic atmosphere and enjoy artistic renditions of things to do, see, eat and take home. As a cultural amusement park filled with aspiration and positive vibes, the exhibition is the perfect way to enjoy the festive season and celebrate the end of the year.

When: From now until 14 December, 2018
