September is here and it’s time to get planning! Get your calendars ready, as we’re rounded up the best Hong Kong events happening this month. Whatever you’re into, there’s plenty lined up from Hong Kong’s largest health & wellness festival, to vegan marketplaces, boozy events, creative classes, informative workshops and more.
Pisco Nights has taken over LKF and beyond this summer, bringing a taste of Peru to Hong Kong. And as the season draws to a close, Pisco is bringing one last event for you to get involved in! Taking place on Tuesday, 3 September, the Pisco Cocktail Competition will be held at the Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong Show 2019, and will feature up to 40 of Hong Kong’s best bartenders and mixologists as they battle it out to make the best Pisco cocktail. If you’re a budding bartender and want to see if you come out top, there’s a cash prize to be won, along with a trip to Peru! But, if your skills are more in line with drinking cocktails, rather than making them, the event is free to attend to watch the pros at work.

International wakeboarding competition, Nautique Wakefest is back for another year, kicking off on Friday, 20 September. The annual competition welcomes the best in Asia and from around the world to compete, so head to Tai Po for the weekend and soak in all the action! What’s more, HILX Eyewear athlete (and world number five wakeboarder!) Shota Tezuka, will be a guest judge at the event and will be onsite over the three days to show off some amazing wakeboarding demos. HILX Eyewear will also be releasing its new Shota Tezuka Signature Sunglasses Series, along with hosting the afterparty at Deadman Brewery in San Po Kong on Sunday, 22 September.

This summer, Stazione Novella is taking over the streets with its #SummerofSpritz block parties, taking place on the first Monday of the month! As the last in the series this season, don’t miss sitting street side and enjoying savoury Italian bites and a spritz or two from the mobile Aperol Spritz cart. Expect complimentary Aperitivo, along with spritzes for just $58, or buy a package of 10 for $450.

Hong Kong Rum Week will be hitting the city from Monday, 2 September to Sunday, 8 September. Multiple bars across Hong Kong will be getting involved and serving up special rum-based cocktails throughout the week-long event. Be sure to pick up a free rum passport and collect stamps as you try your way through the drinks specials. Offering a cheeky spin on traditional handmade crafts, the latest Embroidery Night In by Make and Do Hong Kong will be held at Little Creatures in Kennedy Town. This month the focus is on the city we love, with the workshop offering participants some insight into the world of embroidery, along with the chance to learn a number of embroidery techniques which can be used on your final HK-themed masterpiece. Tickets include all the tuition and materials for the class, along with some snacks and a selection of bottled beers by Little Creatures.

Fresh from a sell-out, critically acclaimed run of Secret Theatre London and Singapore, the team is back in Hong Kong with an epic new immersive thriller. The story opens with the capture of a serial killer. The police think they have their man, but is he really guilty? In this interactive play, the audience will have the chance to investigate the scenes, interview the accused and, ultimately, have their say. It’s Silence of the Lambs meets Black Mirror, all set against the backdrop of historic Tai Kwun. Ticket holders can opt in to either a pre-theatre or post-theatre dinner option at Aaharn.

Back for its ninth edition this September, IRIS: Your Escape brings together Hong Kong’s health and wellness industry at the stunning harbourfront location.
