HandsOn Hong Kong Serve-A-Thon

Looking for ways to help those who have been affected by the pandemic? Organised by local charity HandsOn Hong Kong, this year’s serve-a-thon gives you a week packed with opportunities to volunteer virtually from home as well as in-person. From package delivery, meal prepping and more, simply register to be a volunteer and select your preferred activities on the volunteer activity calendar.

Breathe Deep: Open Call for Submissions

As part of its community campaign launched on Earth Day, Eaton HK invites the public to submit portraits of trees to be featured in an upcoming exhibition that will celebrate the trees of our urban jungle. The exhibit, titled Breathe Deep, will be presented throughout Eaton HK from Saturday, 12 June to Sunday, 29 August. In addition, a curated exhibition around the same theme will be displayed at the hotel’s gallery, Tomorrow Maybe, featuring the works of Zheng Bo, Pablo Albarenga, Shane Aspegren, and Lee Kit (to name but a few!).

Submissions can be made via Instagram by tagging @eaton.hk and using the hashtag #breathedeepHK, or via email to  [email protected] (min. file size 3MB).

Unknown Pleasures

This May, On Pedder unites with local intimate lifestyle store Sally’s Toy to bring you a limited-time pop-up at its flagship New World Tower store. Aiming to promote sexual empowerment and abolish the taboo against female sexual pleasure, the installation will feature a specially curated range of body-positive literature, exclusive designer sex toys and provocative accessories.

Break the Chain

What happens when art and technology collide? Environmental NGO ADM Capital Foundation and collective art group A.L.A.N (Artists Who Love Animals and Nature) have banded together to bring you this AR street art campaign to raise public support and put an end to illegal wildlife trafficking. Love at Kwun Tong Miniature Exhibition

Kwun Tong’s YM² mall collaborates with Joyful Miniature Association to bring you “Love at Kwun Tong” a large-scale miniature exhibition showcasing a total of 38 displays.

Its centrepiece, “Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong”, highlights the glamour of the old district, comprising of historic landmarks such as Yue Man Mansion and Bonds Theatre. It also features six AR effects that bring the panorama to life. Don’t be surprised to see airships soaring through the sky and the late “Kowloon Emperor” Tsang Tsou Choi writing Chinese calligraphy on the street.

Questionable Drunks Game Show

Club Rangoon Dog Adoption Day

Leashes at the ready! Burmese restaurant Club Rangoon is set host its first dog adoption day at its spacious kiosk area, in partnership with subscription-based dog food suppliers Buddy Bites, local dog shelter Catherine’s Puppies and local sustainable dog accessories brands monotone and Terra Ooak.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their pets along (or of course, bring a new one home!) and can enjoy an exclusive Kaffir Lime Daiquiri ($90), available only on the day. Before you leave, make sure you enter the lucky draw for a chance to win a dining experience at Club Rangoon, and pick up a Buddy Bites goody bag which will contain a little gift from each participating brand.

The Ladies Take Over: Live From San Po Kong to The Aftermath

In this special edition of The Aftermath’s “Live From San Po Kong” series, the ladies are stealing the spotlight. First up, vocal trio Snippets – who are known to only partially sing songs because they can’t be bothered to remember all the lyrics – will be live streamed at the venue from 8:30pm followed by local band Circles who will be performing originals from 9:15pm.
