Don’t let a soggy forecast get you down. We’ve got some faves this month that are sure to kick those weather woes away. Whether you just want your makeup to stay in place (um, who doesn’t), you are fixing to find the latest trend in clothing or athleisure, or you just want to get yourself a little something for the weekend, our picks should satisfy any of those needs. Get ready, girls, April promises to have some great new items you won’t want to miss…
I don’t know about you, but when I leave the house I always think I look pretty good – that is, until the heat makes my makeup say otherwise (#fail). That’s why the All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay is just what the stylist ordered! For up to 16 hours (that’s through the cocktail hour!) it keeps makeup looking gorgeous without melting, fading or settling into fine lines. Now that’s a look we can rock this month!
Available from Urban Decay stockists across Hong Kong
Trainers, sneakers, tennis shoes – call them what you like, but they are all the rage this season and we are digging the Superstar Metallic-trimmed Leather shoes from Adidas. If you’re just going out for a stroll on a Saturday morning or want to pair them with some jeans, these feminine sneakers are just the footwear to own. They have been reimagined with molten, rose gold stripes for spring, and are made from supple white leather finished with a classic rubber shell toe and bouncy sole.
Available online via Net-A-Porter
Want to make lunchtime yoga a regular routine but don’t want to lug your yoga mat to work? The Full Toe Bella Grip Sock by Toesox may be just the thing you are looking for. Available in an assortment of vivid colours and styles, they allow you to work out the way you want without worrying about slipping and sliding. As a hygienic alternative to bare feet, it has a fitted heel and is made from organic cotton, which means they will nama-stay (sorry, couldn’t resist) on your feet no matter how much you move.
Available online via T8 Fitness – use the code DB10 to get a 10% discount on any order if you spend over $300
Now that you have no more excuses not to practice yoga, why not treat yourself to the latest in apparel? Ohm your way to yoga classes in the Lioness Yoga Leotard from Pure Apparel and feel like a warrior, too (pun intended!). Its sleek silhouette and moisture-wicking fabric have an antimicrobial finish (phew!) and are soft to the touch.
Available online via Pure Apparel
You’ve got the gear, you’re set to go to the gym (or studio), and now you just need somewhere to put all your stuff. Don’t worry, we’ve got your covered in that department, too! Ted Baker launched its latest active wear collection in Hong Kong and we fell in love with the Renatah Black Backpack with its signature romantic rose prints, mixed with dancing butterfly’s effect. You’ll look chic carrying this little number around town, even if you’re not going to work out!
Available at Ted Baker, Fashion Walk, 8 & 21, G/F And Shop F6, 1/F, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
With our wardrobes being so tiny, we often fight the urge to keep buying new digs. But when we saw this 100 % cotton dress from Maison Kitsuné, we loved its design so much we had to feature it! The Braided Bali dress looks simple enough, but the buttons allow you to take the top off, so you can wear it by itself or with the skirt. Now, that’s what we call versatile!
Available at the Maison Kitsuné Gallery Pop-up Store from 17 March to 30 June, 42 Paterson Street Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
We adore a good tote (who doesn’t?). But what we really love is one that is lightweight, has plenty of storage, is big enough to carry a laptop but isn’t so big that you look like a bag lady holding it. So when we spotted the Manhole City Tote from Mamimu, we knew we found the holy grail of handbags! Fully functional and equipped with multiple compartments, it’s designed just for the working traveller. Made of lightweight, rain-proof canvas and genuine leather, with unique graphics inspired by manhole covers in various cities, they are perfect for the girl who has everything but nowhere to put it all!
Available online here, or at Kapok, 3 Sun Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
