Reiss Fall/Winter 2012 – everything you need for work, rest and play!

5 November, 2012

Ever since the September issue of Vogue hit the stands, I have been dying for autumn to come to Hong Kong! It all started last spring when the fall fashions hit the runway and since then, I have been tearing pages out of magazines and madly pinning my fave looks on Pinterest to figure out what I will be wearing in the cooler months. To help me out on my fall fashion quest, I stopped by Reiss in IFC, who helped me style some fab looks for the months ahead.

ALL WORK AND NO PLAY?

What if your work clothes could make you feel more alive? We took this basic in-the-office suit and paired it with a bold emerald shoe, which brought out the colours in this blue/green/black clutch. Colours don’t only lift an outfit but lift your whole mood too and this shade is perfect for the holidays ahead!

If your office environment is more laidback, then try this knit dress, which we layered over a crisp white Oxford shirt and topped off with an apricot leather moto jacket. The large evergreen tote provides more than enough space for your laptop and a change of clothes for the gym. It would also make the most luscious carry-on bag for those impromptu weekend trips away!

CHILL TIME

When the working week is done and it’s time to chill, try these looks out! This girly pink sweater with a ruffled bottom looks just that little bit cooler under this boxy beige jacket. I also loved these skinny navy slacks that were super flattering and comfy enough for a long haul flight! And those menswear-inspired shoes (I already highlighted this as a key fall trend for your feet, remember?!)? Yes, please!

More of a boho chic than the structured type? Then check out this flowy green maxi skirt, set off by a cosy lime green tied up t-shirt. Reiss had an incredible selection of little leather jackets so we had to add this black one to the mix! The large bag holds all the magazines you need to settle in to an afternoon of lounging at the Deadend Café!

SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES

If your fall/holiday season has you party hopping your way through the 852, Reiss has you sorted. This coral number can carry you from the office to the after-work scene with ease. We spiced it up with some strappy heels and an oversize clutch to make it less boardroom and more Taz Ballroom!

But this blue number was my fave by far! We started with the sequin shorts, which are actually not that short (I’m 6’ tall) and added a lace tux-style shirt with a grey blazer. You may have heard me say it before, but when going short on the bottom, it is important to be covered on the top – you should feel free to show skin but know when enough is enough! The powder blue overcoat was the perfect piece to pull it all together while keeping me warm enough to wander on Wyndham in winter. Hmmm…. I’m thinking that this could be my perfect New Year’s Eve ensemble!

Reiss truly is a one-stop shop for workwear, casual outfits, party dresses, awesome accessories and pretty much everything in-between; if even the future Queen of England is a fan, then they must be doing something right! So stop by Reiss soon-ish before all these stunners sell out… happy shopping everyone!
