Oroton launches in Hong Kong

Oroton, the hugely popular Australian label founded back in 1938 is finally launching in Hong Kong with a brand-new ifc store. With offerings from handbags to jewellery and shoes to silk scarves, Oroton is about affordable luxury and classics done with a modern twist. Maura and I had the chance to check out a special Blogger preview of the line a couple of weeks ago and definitely had no problems identifying highly-covetable items! As a non-Aussie seeing the range for the first time, the closest comparison I would make with another Western brand is to suggest that the range is a little like Coach in terms of price point and offerings, but with a far more pared-back style that will appeal to women of different ages and also makes the handbags in particular somehow timeless.

Here are a couple of items we had our eyes on which we think encapsulate the feel of the brand:

This gold cuff is a good example of their jewellery range – classic gold and silver pieces for daytime/workwear…

with some more “bling” pieces for the evening!

We loved their evening purses and clutches in particular as they’re glam without being over-the-top – the use of metal mesh is an Oroton signature…

Finally, Oroton are bringing their fab shoe collection to Hong Kong, which even goes up to a big-foot-friendly size 42. We’re fans of their sparkly flats which are perfect for dressing up jeans.
