La-aL Boutique in Soho

22 December, 2010

New Soho boutique La-aL could be just the place to do the last of your Christmas shopping, so run, don’t walk to this quirky little shop space filled with all things Thai. Don’t misunderstand though, there’s no teak or elephant pottery in sight… La-aL is all about hipster modern Thai goodies.

From gorgeous Anyadharu scented candles with unusual fragrances (coffee and peppermint being two that I adored) to the cutest statement jewellery pieces, to the absolute best stocking stuffers for men and women.

The ethos behind La-aL is “Eclectic, sophisticated, simple, creative and fun” according to founder Thor Thipayarat. The carefully curated items Thor stocks are all super-accessible from a pricing point of view, and come from contemporary young Thai designers and brands. As well as the great gift options, there are also cool items for your home, like fun table lamps and irregular-shaped mirrors from designer Anurak Suchat. Completely unpretentious, charming and welcoming, La-al deserves to be on the Soho map… You can find La-al above Forest Bird by walking up to the first floor.

La-aL, 1/F, 39 Staunton Street, Soho. 3484 9188.
