Sassy Pick – Winstons

Coffee by day and cocktails by night are the order of the day at this Kennedy Town institution. Our team loved perching themselves on the streetside bar stools and enjoying a few casual drinks. The Grippy Tannins immediately caught our eye on the cocktail list – an intriguing mix of silky smooth coffee liqueur, vermouth and red wine – it was a surprisingly smooth and subtle martini that became a quick favourite! The Pumpkin Spice Latte Martini perfectly captured the Autumn vibes and for those who’d prefer to stick to the classics, you can’t go wrong with Winstons’ signature Espresso Martini.

Sassy Pick 2 – 11 Westside

Still haven’t made your way over to try out the innovative flavours dished up by celebrity Chef Esdras Ochoa at 11 Westside? Now is your chance! The Cauliflornia Veggie taco was a winner for the vegetarians in our crowd and the fresh flavours of the scallop ceviche are not to be missed. Pair your tapas with an LA “OG” Paloma – with tequila grapefruit soda, salt and lime.

Sassy Pick 3 – The Wilshire

Never ones to shy away from a speakeasy, a stop for a cocktail at The Wilshire was a must-visit on our Wine Walk. Flick a switch at the back of 11 Westside and enter this cozy neighbourhood watering hole. We loved the refreshing flavours of The Flower Shop – a gin-based cocktail made with elderflower and lime; while appreciating the complexity of the Filthy Rich – a bittersweet take on a Manhattan.

Sassy Pick 4 – GRAIN

With 17 taps pouring more than just beers, GRAIN is a gastropub for food and beer lovers alike! Our team loved the chilled out vibe of this waterfront brewery and thoroughly enjoyed pairing our Gweilo Pale Ale with a Buck Rarebit Pinsa – GRAIN’s answer to a pizza!

Sassy Pick 5 – Dough Bros

You can’t go wrong with pizza and Sassy favourites Alvy’s and Dough Bros are both on the Kennedy Town Wine Walk. We sampled the exclusive Pepperoni Supreme + Jalapeños pizza and Apple Pie Doughnuts from Dough Bros. Both all-around hits with the team.

• One Pepperoni Supreme + Jalapeños pizza, three piping hot apple and cinnamon doughnuts and two beers will set you back 5 tokens.
