Where dance and painting collide…
Prepare to be transported into Frida Kahlo’s vibrant world, as this visually stunning spectacle — choreographed by the acclaimed Colombian-Belgian Annabelle Lopez (“Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon”)! — intertwines ballet and painting so you can fully immerse yourself in her magical oeuvre. The choreography seamlessly blends classical and contemporary styles, vividly reimagining Kahlo’s iconic paintings and personal story of triumph and tragedy.
An explosion of colour and poetry…
No detail has been missed! Renowned British composer Peter Salem’s original score fuses mariachi, flamenco and jazz music for a truly immersive cultural experience, while costume and set designer Dieuweke Van Reij brings Frida Kahlo’s art to life with vibrant Mexican-inspired designs — think skeletons, enagua skirts and enchanting animals that pull you into her universe. The show kicks off in a dramatic palette of black, grey and white, but once Frida discovers her passion for painting, the stage erupts in a dazzling array of colour!
