Electric Sekki Shows Us How to Wear Sassy Pink for F/W13!

31 December, 2013

Leave it to fashion collective Electric Sekki to have rounded up all the coolest designers under one roof; we not only got in the door of this ultra cool fashion bureau to check out the goods, but we even got to play dress up with their Fall/Winter 2013 collections too!

After meandering through rack after rack of delicious dresses and woolly coats, I noticed the pile on my arm was starting to look rather uniform in colour – pink is the shade of the season, guys! So here’s my guide on how to work pink for winter… here’s hoping you find some style inspiration!

Look one reminded me of Tiffany belting out “I think we’re alone now…” but in the best way – belting your jumper (I opted for this creamy Minkpink sweater) screams 1980s! I teamed my pink knit with this Nanushka denim skirt, which would also look good with some thick tights and chunky boots for when it really gets cold. This little Nanushka camel coat with the scalloped edge pockets is a girlie delight that would look great on petite and tall girls alike; toss it on with your dark skinnies and over-the-knee boots for a chic weekend look!

Here’s a way for us to take our pretty pink to the office! Spice up your basic button-down shirt with a leopard collar, like the one on this tailored blouse from Tela. Hopefully, by now you have a pair of printed pants but if not, then it’s time to get on the bandwagon! Printed pants not only add interest to an outfit but make the transition from day to night with ease – plus, they’ll make you stand out from the rest of the black and navy bustling down Queen’s Road. Top the whole look off with this lovely D.Efect coat that will keep you chic and toasty all season long… and why not add a pair of Ksubi glasses to show you really mean business as well?!

I’m tickled pink by this furry fuchsia cape by House of Holland! I know it’s not the most versatile piece one could purchase (like a black blazer or dark denim jeans), but it sure brings a smile to my face! Not only does it look cute over this Stylestalker structured dress, but it would also be equally dashing over a long sleeved black midi dress with black tights and boots too. Though having this cape may make me start stalking Fashion Weeks abroad hoping to get style snapped… No photos please *starts posing*!

Last but not least, we try out a little white for the holiday season! I was just watching Fashion Police on E! and they took a poll on whether white for winter should be allowed; the style team resounded with a unanimous “YES” – and I couldn’t agree more! If heading out on the town, try this Sass& Bide corset and dress with an oversized black coat, like this furry one here by Twenty8Twelve. Our splash of Sassy pink is in the form of an over-the-shoulder bag by No. 21 – it’s big enough to hold all the essentials but keeps your hands free for snapping selfies, to show everyone back home just how fab HK life can be!

So if there’s one shade that you need to own this winter, it’s pink (although we may be a bit biased!) – and as ever, Electric Sekki has brought over the coolest selection of designers to Hong Kong stores for us to clamour over! So if you get hounded by the street-style paps as a result of your new gorgeous finds, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
