Amazonia

Wan Chai is known for its late-night bars and drinks deals, so an option that should always be on your radar is Amazonia. With live music every night and drinks prices from just $30 you can’t go wrong.

Back Bar

If you’ve got a mid-week day off, or manage to leave the office early, we recommend making a beeline for FRANCIS and enjoying a selection of drinks for just $50. The weekday happy hour runs from 3pm to 5:30pm and includes spritz, red, white, sparkling and rosé wines, and the best bit is that once happy hour is over, you can stick around for some delicious Middle Eastern fare.

We can’t get enough of Bread & Beast’s incredible sarnies during the day time, and its new evening concept KONG offers up a great happy hour. A bar with a relaxed vibe, good food and decent priced drinks can be hard to come by in our city full of pricey rooftop bars, but Thaiwan ticks all the boxes with its laid-back atmosphere. The happy hour here offers up pints of draft beer from $58, cocktails starting at $78 and more. We also can’t resist coupling our drink with some of Thaiwan’s Taiwanese and Thai fusion food, with the likes of pork belly baos, dumplings and more on offer.

The Optimist happy hour

The Optimist

This Northern-Spanish inspired restaurant is living up to its name with its Optimistic Hour drinks deal! Available daily from 3pm to 7:30pm, enjoy handcrafted cocktails, including the fruity Bramble ($48) and Gin on Ginger ($68), as well the bar’s signature selection of Spanish style gin and tonics (from $48). The Pawn Botanicals Bar

When the weather warms up, we can’t resist al fresco drinks on The Pawn’s terrace, set above the busy Johnston Road. During happy hour, which runs Sunday to Thursday from 5pm to 7pm, choose between a selection of wines, beers and spirits with prices starting at $60.

A favourite spot of ours in the area, and one that offers a great happy hour is Three Blind Mice. Running from 5:30pm on weekdays, all beers are priced at $50, with prosecco and wine costing just $60 a glass. Though we suggest opting for the Aperol Spritz ($60), or an espresso or earl grey lemon martini ($70).
