Chefs who wanted to help join forces
On Thursday, 26 October eight of Hong Kong’s renowned chefs will join forces to help the global effort #CookForSyria, which will benefit those who have been affected by the tragic war in Syria. Launched last year by Clerkenwell Boy and Serena Guen in London, the effort gained momentum as it continued to offer supper clubs, bake sales, restaurant donations, pop ups and cookbook sales. It raised more than £250,000 and has since expanded to New York, Australia, and now Hong Kong.
This one-night meal ($1,800) for only 110 will have a raffle, free-flow drinks and Syrian-inspired delights by Chef Peggy Chan (Grassroots Pantry), Nathan Green (Rhoda), Nicholas Chew (Serge et le Phoque), David Lai (Neighbourhood), Agustin Balbi (Haku), Jim Lofdahl (Frantzen’s Kitchen), Nicolas Boutin (Epure) and Uwe Opocensky (Uwe and Beef & Liberty). Tickets can be purchased here.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to children affected by Syria’s humanitarian crisis.
