Getting sick of Santa already? Fancy a break from all those Christmas carols with a dose of culture instead? Then how about booking tickets for award-winning play Venus In Fur, which is being staged at the HK Fringe Underground on 12-14 December – and we have two pairs of tickets to give away too!
Written by David Ives, this kinky comedy was a mega hit when it played on Broadway in 2011 – and now Sweet & Sour Productions is staging the play for the very first time here in Honkers (and about time too)!
Exploring the power play between Thomas, a modern-day playwright/director who has written an adaptation of the 1870 novel Venus In Fur by Leopold Sacher-Masoch (how the term sado-masochism came about, if that gives you any idea as to the book’s contents!), and Vanda, an actress who has come to audition for him, this fast-paced production sees the two shifting between their 21st century selves and 19th century characters with hilarious results. Talk about the audition of a lifetime!
