Golden Globe Goodness

18 January, 2011

Lately I have been a bit underwhelmed when it has come to award show dressing. I don’t blame it on the fashion designers or the stars themselves though. I often blame it on the fact that perhaps my tastes have not been aligned with red carpet fashion the past few seasons because often times people rave about a certain dress that I just find, well, not that lovely.

This years Golden Globes was another story for me. I am really liking so many of the starlets dresses and while I definitely had a few standout favourites I am going to give two thumbs up to the majority of the ladies. Of course, we will always have a choice few who just looked blah or even worse frightful but for now I am focusing on the positive with my 3 personal favourites from the night.

January Jones in Versace. Simply perfection in my mind. She looks stunning…enough said.

Mila Kunis in Vera Wang. I am a sucker for a green dress so I was very happy to see that one of my favourite colours was very popular on the evening. Did you hear that Mila got a $7,000US facial to prepare for the night? Talk about going big on the pampering front!

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive. What propelled this dress to the tops of my list is the amazing open back. I think there is nothing sexier then a covered dress in the front and a plunging (yet tasteful!) dip in the back. Stylist Rachel Zoe does an amazing style job, yet again.

I know I said my top three but for some reason I feel bad leaving Olivia Wilde out of the mix. While not my personal taste I can’t deny the fact that her Marchesa gown is glam at its finest.

So, what are you thought on this years Globes?
