Set Sail
We’ve been fans of Aqua Luna from the get-go (it launched over a decade ago!), so we were thrilled to see Aqua Restaurant Group’s newest member of the family has just set sail. We had a chance to catch the maiden voyage last week, and we have to admit, we’re already hooked. As a quintessential Hong Kong experience, these traditional junks are a treat for everyone, from visiting guests to the kids who grew up taking the Star Ferry home from school!

Looking for ways to enjoy our precious harbour? Aqua Luna II offers 45 minute evening harbour cruises where guests can relax on lounge beds with a cocktail in hand. Sounds pretty perfect to us! During the day, make the most of what this city has to offer and explore various locations with the hop-on/hop-off Harbour Discovery Tour. From Monday, 1 May, longer daytime cruises are also available to a wider list of destinations (including Stanley, Cheung Chau and Lamma Island).
Whilst the first Aqua Luna is known for its distinctive red sails, this fresh newcomer features ornate blue and white sails, paying tribute to the Ming Dynasty. Aqua Luna II has been meticulously built over the past two years, and is made exclusively from wood and bamboo, with no nails used in the entire structure! If you’re planning a special event, it’s worth knowing the junk can comfortably hold up to 80 guests on its two decks. Time to plan some time out at sea!
To celebrate the launch of Aqua Luna II, complimentary rides are taking place on Saturday, 13 May and Sunday 14 May for all Hong Kong ID holders (from 12 noon to 5:30pm). As an extra bonus, all the restaurants within Aqua Restaurant Group will be randomly serving dishes and cocktails in Ming Dynasty plates and cups until Wednesday, 31 May. Anyone lucky enough to be served the Ming Dynasty ceramic will win complimentary tickets for the new Aqua Luna II!
To top it all off, you can sail your way through the sea sipping on champagne and making your way through Dim Sum Library’s delectable menu. Yes, the truffle har gao is available. We checked.
