Don’t be counting down to Christmas just yet – we’ve still got Thanksgiving to come, so make sure you’re not missing out on the turkey and pie action! If you fancy giving your kitchen appliances at home a break, RED Bar + Restaurant has got you covered with a special Thanksgiving set lunch and dinner menu. With a choice of delish appetisers and mains available, you can stick with traditional roast turkey and honey glazed ham or go English with US prime sirloin beef and Yorkshire puds – and don’t forget a classic pumpkin pie to finish off the meal on a sweet note. Meanwhile, if kitchen whizz is more your style, you can also order a whole butterball turkey to share at home with homemade stuffing, all the sides (mmmm… pigs in blankets) and cranberry sauce included – there’s your Thanksgiving party sorted! Tis the season to be thankful… and we’re sure your taste buds will be thankful too!

soy sauce workshop2 copyThe joy of soy
Who doesn’t love a bit of soy sauce? “Cee-yau” (as we know it in Canto) was developed over 25 thousand years ago (!) by Buddhist monks and is a staple in every HK kitchen… but have you ever really just tasted the stuff on its own and savoured all the different flavours behind our very own “black gold”? Join Veronica Yu, an Eating Experiencist, for a Soy Sauce Tasting Workshop & Dinner at Plantation, with five different Asian dishes to feast on, plus a class on how to use soy sauce in everyday cooking by Yuan’s, a premium soy sauce maker. Time to shop your kitchen? We think so!

When: 17 November, 5-9.30pm
Where: Plantation by Teakha, Shop B, 1-4 Tai On Terrace, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
How much: $580 per person, register on Plantation’s website
