Row, row, row your boat
Fancy spending the mid-week public holiday the traditional Chinese way? Tuen Ng Festival, also known as Dragonboat Festival, is celebrated with action-packed boat races, traditional drumming and parades, and yummy rice dumplings – so get in on the action in places like StanleySha TinSai Kung and Discovery Bay and make a real day of it! If you don’t fancy squeezing in with the beach crowds, hit the iconic Aqua Luna junk instead for a day-long buffet cruise and onboard bar (with cocktails, mocktails and drinks galore), where you’ll get front row seats to all the action on the ocean itself, plus free shuttle boats to the beach to catch the winners at the finish line. Eat and drink to your heart’s content before bringing home a gift bag of traditionalzong zi dumplings!

La bella vita
Italy is so much more than pasta and wine, and you’ll be able to see for yourself just what the Italian lifestyle has to offer this weekend. The Italian Chamber of Commerce is holding an Italian Market over at Happy Valley, and this two-day fair will feature authentic products made in Italy, including wine, bags, jewellery and lifestyle products. There’s also going to be live music and shows plus a food court serving delicious delicacies from some of our fave Italian restaurants in town. Definitely make a note to drop by the cultural corner for a unique display of video art from the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia too (and maybe get to know an Italian hottie or two while you’re there!)

All about green
Get up early and be inspired this Saturday at Ecozine Live! As part of World Environment Week, Ecozine has brought together local and international speakers to host talks on sustainable living and environmental issues. Don’t start snoozing just yet… the topics range from business all the way to wellness, style and beyond. There’ll also be music, dance and comedy performances, as well as delish refreshments from the likes of MANA! and Secret Ingredient, plus a green pop-up shop by Sassy faves A Boy Named Sue. Don’t forget to grab your complimentary t-shirt and reusable water bottle before heading to the after-party at RED Bar + Restaurant. Being sustainable has never been this much fun!
