Don’t let the dreary weather forecast bring you down – there’s plenty to do this weekend come rain or shine! We’ve got a little bit of everything for you, whether you’ve got some cheesy cravings, shopping urges or wedding fantasies to satisfy, it’s all here on this week’s Weekender!

Something old, something new…
Recently engaged and planning your fantasy wedding? Then pop by the Sparkling Wedding Fair at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong next Saturday to get the lowdown on everything you need to know to turn the big day of your dreams into a reality! From wedding cakes to gorgeous designer gowns and sparkling jewellery, plus make-up demos and live music performances, it’s all here – and if you’re looking to have your dream day at the MO itself, the first five couples who book their wedding banquets will have thechance to win a two-night stay in one of the Mandarin Oriental’s other luxurious hotels in either Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Sanya or Kuala Lumpur! There’ll be plenty more prize giveaways and special offers on the day, and every guest also receives a complimentary goodie bag including a copy of wedding magazine Darizi and a voucher for The Mandarin Spa. We know how much you all love Boots now they’re in Hong Kong – so get ready to double your excitement as they’ve teamed up with one of our fave spas, Sense Of Touch for a special sparty next Thursday! They’ll be dishing out 40-minute Feel Good Facials throughout the day, using an indulgent combo of Boots No7, Botanics and Champneys products that will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and oh-so-good for the last day of the working week! Say cheese!
Celebrate the art and craft of cheese at Hong Kong’s International Cheese Festival! With over 120 artisanal cheeses to buy (plus freshly baked breads, pastries and jam) at the European style Cheese Market in Hullett House, you’ll be in total cheese heaven this weekend – and if the weather’s nice, you can even make yourself a little picnic in their outdoor garden area! If you’re in the mood for a fromage feast, then check out the special gourmet cheese dinners at Armani/Aqua and Hullett House, plus wine and cheese tastings and interactive expert master classes at Hullett House too. Being cheesy was never so good!

Looking for an awesome way to end your week? Then head on over to explore the Eastside at TGIF Chai Wan! Come meander the streets and get ready for an evening of art, fashion and a healthy dose of naughtiness with sexy lingerie from Tangram (you might even spot our That Girl, founder and designer Paola!), vintage furniture from Casa Capriz, and cool paintings, photography and artwork on display at the local galleries. If you’re quick, you can even nip into one of our fave cafés Chaiwanese for a quick cup of ice-drip coffee on the way there… sounds like a great way to kick start the weekend to us!

Pop-up madness!
We’ve not got just one pop-up shop for you this week, but two! If you’re ready to give your wardrobe a summer revamp (regardless of the weather forecast!) check out cool Hong Kong label Cameo’s pop-up, showcasing their fab new collection – including lots of bright colours and fun prints perfect for seeing in the sunshine. There will also be some complimentary champers and a 10% discount for all Cameo returning customers. Meanwhile, if it’s your home that needs brightening up, head to Mirth’s pop-up shop in Aberdeen – with a range of local vendors on show including Kara Krystal and The Powder Room, plus all of Mirth’s trademark fun funky furniture and yet more complimentary bubbly, you’re bound to find something that ticks all your boxes!
