How did he propose?

Pirgun was going on a business trip to Singapore in October last year and I was joining him for the weekend. On Saturday morning he was slightly hungover so I said for him to meet me later on, however he insisted on coming with me! When we left the hotel I noticed that he had his work bag with him (although I just assumed he was bringing his laptop with him to do some work).

We went for a walk around Merlion Park, towards Gardens by the Bay where he was being really romantic, asking if we would be together forever. I had no clue what was happening as he said, “I really want to be with you. Do you want to marry me?” I was laughing, but turns out he was being serious as he got down on one knee and took out the ring box! I started to cry and of course said, “I do!” We’re not overly romantic people, but that moment was really special. We went back to the hotel and celebrated by the pool with champagne. We’re set to be married in Marbella, Spain in September this year however we held the official part of our wedding back in May so that my mother could be there.

What design is the ring inspired by and how did Diamond Registry make your vision come to life?

I was very happy with the ring! First of all, I never would have thought that I would own such a big diamond. I always said to Pirgun any bling would make me happy. The design was entirely thought of by him, he did say that he noticed I like halo ring settings over princess cuts and he did such a great job!

How much did you know about diamonds before your Diamond Registry experience?

I didn’t know anything! Pirgun decided not to do any research before the day was approaching and learn with Diamond Registry. I always joke that he’s a bit of ‘nerd’ as he always wants to learn every single detail, and it was the same with diamonds! He went for a ‘crash course’ with Diamond Registry and Grace, one of the consultants, who explained everything there was to know about colour, size and cuts.

Would you recommend Diamond Registry to someone looking to buy diamonds, and would you use this service again?

Yes, definitely! I speak so highly of Diamond Registry to my friends and we have since bought our marriage bands and my earrings from them. I love that they can help bring your vision to life and assist in the design process to create your jewellery for you.

What would you say stood out about the service at Diamond Registry?

Although we had never sourced diamonds in this ‘category’ before now, the staff are so friendly and we felt extremely comfortable. We found it really convenient that we could message Diamond Registry via Whatsapp, which lead to a much more personal experience compared to other retail shops where staff fight for commission.

Briefly describe the process of buying a diamond through Diamond Registry.

Buying the diamond was easy. Pirgun works around the corner from the Diamond Registry office so he went few times to check on the progress of the diamond, the design and then, when it was ready, the final ring! The process was efficient and hassle-free.
