Every teenager’s rite to beauty begins at Sasa. And one doesn’t really grow out of this stalwart drugstore – below we’re highlighting Team Sassy’s all-time favourite Sasa products we still very much use!

Always reliable, always in your neighbourhood and always the one person leaving Sasa with a massive receipt (just Hong Kong things)! From giving ourselves a DIY manicure with sasatinnie’s colourful selection of nail polishes to now stepping in to stock up on our skincare, we’ve pretty much grown up with Sasa. There are plenty of hidden gems from Japanese and Korean brands here and you can grab them for better prices, read on for our team’s favourites!

Dr.G R.E.D Blemish Clear Soothing Cream

Come the crackly dry season, you’ll want a long-lasting moisturiser suitable for all skin types. While it’s currently retailing for close to $300 globally, grab yours at Sasa for $248, it comes with a bonus 30mL bottle!

“Dr. G Clear Cream is perfect for combo and sensitive skin, especially with Hong Kong’s humidity. I was thrilled when it became easy to find here, and buying online from Sasa on HKTVmall is even cheaper!” – Alex Ambrocio, Partnerships Manager

Cyber Colors Gentle Grapefruit Makeup Remover Wipes

Our Editorial Assistant, Veena and her family swear by this product and they’ve shipped it to family members all over the world! If you’re more of a liquid make-up remover girlie, Veena says she’s never needed more than one cotton pad’s worth to take off all her eye make-up (and she loves her eyeshadow!). For just $58 for a pack of 30 wipes, this also makes a great travel companion!

VT Reedle Shot 300

Haley, Sassy’s Managing Director, is on top of beauty trends and products making global waves. Think of the VT Reedle Shot as a “micro-needle in a bottle” that’s meant to help you achieve glass skin. The Reedle Shot HAS to be applied before any other product touches your face but be warned, in Haley’s words, “it burns like you are being stabbed with tiny glass shards”. If you have a high pain tolerance, try the 700 level – the results are unreal!

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Our CEO Emilie’s pick, this gentle make-up remover effectively dissolves stubborn eye and face makeup, including sunscreens. Though solid, it melts into a silky cream upon application and rinses off easily. Non-greasy and non-drying, the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is suitable for all skin types. It’s EWG approved, meaning it’s all clean of nasties and best of all, grab yours at Sasa for just $109 (original costs $320!).

Kérastase Masque Intense Regenerant

To tame your tassels, a hair mask can do wonders. French luxury hair and scalp care line, Kérastase’s Chronologiste Masque Intense Regenerant sells for just $320 for a 200mL bottle at Sasa!

“The scent is so luxurious and it lasts all night and into the next day. I’ve bleached my hair a bunch of times, so it’s pretty damaged and dry. But this product makes my hair feel super smooth and silky, and I can actually feel it getting stronger with each use. If you’re looking for a high-end hair experience or just need something to help with damaged hair, I’d definitely recommend giving this a try!” – Grace Ma, Multi Media Designer

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water Makeup Remover

“You can’t beat Sasa prices (we’re talking $84 whereas the original stands at $228!), particularly for Bioderma Micellar water makeup remover. I like the one for sensitive skin and use it every night on the eyes with a q-tip (following an oil-free makeup remover, need to protect the lashes!) and then all over the face with a cotton round.” – Stephanie Shiu, Managing Editor

Heroine Make (Kiss Me) Long & Curl Mascara Advanced Film

Jowell from our Partnerships team says the Heroine Make mascara has been her holy grail ever since she first started playing around with make-up in her teenage years! Having tried many, none quite did the magic for Jowell like this mascara does. It holds curls all day and does a decent job at lengthening!

Anua Heartleaf 70% Daily Relief Lotion

“Sasa now carries most of the Anua products and we all know the toner is the “it” toner this year but everyone has been sleeping on this lotion. I discovered it a few years ago in Korea during the summer when I was looking for something light that wouldn’t feel heavy on my face. This product is an absolute 10/10, super easy for daily wear and the Hong Kong humidity.” – Haley Herbst, Managing Director

Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner

Our Editor Fashila has tried multiple liquid eyeliners and just one has stuck with her butter fingers. The Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner is super easy to use and gives you nice fine lines to work with. For just $99 (sometimes cheaper with deals for two!), you can opt for either the black or brown shades, but either way this eyeliner is long-lasting and smudge-proof!

Tips For Shopping At Sasa In Hong Kong

  • Some Sasas can be very tiny but the majority of them have narrow lanes where you try to not knock products off the shelves by mistake. It does get overwhelming to shop at Sasa, we’ve gone round and round trying to find one product – don’t give up! Or well, ask the staff for help!
  • Shopping on its website is cheaper compared to the physical stores (lucky for you, we’ve linked all the products above!)
  • There are 73 Sasa stores in Hong Kong and 9 in Macau – find all the locations here.
  • There is a rewards system for membership. You can accumulate points to receive discounts, find out more here.
