Housed inside the iconic old Central Police Headquarters building in Tai Kwun, along with sister restaurant The Chinese Library and The Dispensary Bar, Statement is known for its exquisite afternoon tea experiences, and its latest offering is no exception.
Inspired by Lady Caine (the wife of Captain William Caine who conceived and built the original Tai Kwun) and her love of hosting extravagant afternoon high teas, expect a nostalgic take on tradition that nods to old Hong Kong flavours. We’re talking three tiers of handcrafted sweet and savoury bites, including Beef tenderloin cutlet and chicken teriyaki mantou (Chinese steamed buns), Black sesame tofu cheesecake, Red bean & coconut tart and more, along with classic scones served with clotted cream and homemade jams. It all comes presented with vibrant edible butterflies fluttering on a stunning metal spiral art piece created by world-acclaimed designer and architect, Ron Arad for additional luxe, along with bubbly Ruinart Champagne. Cheers!
Priced at just $298 per person, with the option of a glass of Champagne for an additional $100 or one-hour of free-flow for $268, the Lady Caine Afternoon Tea comes in as one of the most affordable afternoon tea options in Hong Kong. Make sure to enjoy your afternoon on the spacious verandah for optimal views of Tai Kwun.
