Scarlet Skirts from Garage Wines

31 January, 2011

I know, I know, it is all about the taste of the wine but doesn’t a great label stand for something? I mean, for many people (wine enthusiasts excluded) it typically is the label that makes you pull a bottle off the shelf so a creative/fun/beautiful image seems like a great way to market your wine to me.

So, with fabulous labels on the brain let me introduce you to Scarlet Skirts, which I think is the perfect wine to bring to a girls night. We sipped on their Sauvignon Blanc courtesy of Garage Wines at our Madonna Dance Night and the fashionable bottle was an excellent precursor for our girly dance night. The description from Garage Wines creator couldn’t be better so instead of butchering the reason behind the label I am going to leave it to the expert to describe it for you…

“Scarlet Skirts label captures a hand drawn image of haute couture which is an important part of the design and the feel for the brand, and while stylish and elegant, I wanted to display the attitude and presence that is today’s modern woman. I wanted an image that together with the wine, is the perfect accessory to any party and every occasion” says creator, Denise Hill.

Superficial looks aside, the white wine tasted very, very good and I am currently contemplating buying a whole case to use as my go to hostess gift throughout the year. The price point is not too bad at all and as Garage Wines has HK representation here in Happy Valley the whole ordering process is pretty simple. If you want to learn more about how you can order Scarlet Skirts or any of the other brands Garage Wines carries just email [email protected].
