Sabrina’s Top 5 Beauty Picks: February

27 February, 2015
My Top 5 Beauty Picks are back again to bring you this month’s fave beauty finds! I’ve been slathering products on left and right in order to scout out what you should be adding to your beauty cabinet. There were more than a few misses, but I’ve weeded those out to bring you the best of the best! Here we go…feb beauty picks - benefit rollerlashBenefit Roller Lash Mascara
To roll out this new mascara, the brand actually laid on the song and dance! No joke – there was a full out musical at the Fringe Club to introduce the media to this product. As fun as it was, there was no need, since this product speaks for itself! The brush actually grabs your lashes like a velcro roller grabs hair and pulls them up, up, up! The formula is rich and thick and looks better the more coats you apply. I have literally been wearing this mascara everyday for a month as it does just what the box claims and actually makes your lashes curl. I haven’t used my lash curler at all and have no intention of adding that device back into my routine, as this mascara makes that ol’ metal device obsolete!

Available at Benefit counters in Hong Kong, see all counter locations here

feb beauty - maybellineMaybelline Color Sensational
I can’t even begin to tell you the number of times someone has complimented my lip shade and asked what it is, only to be told it is Color Sensational by Maybelline! There are a staggering 52 shades to choose from and I have just about all of them! My personal favourites include Neon Red, Vivid Rose, Brazen Berry, and Electric Orange. But if you buy only one then make it Red Revival! These shades have rich, deep-pigmented colour and serious staying power. Plus, it’s Maybelline, so the price point is totally doable!

Available here at Sasa – see all store locations here

15shupalette_packshot_2Shu Uemura Shu:Palette
If you like Urban Decays’ Naked palettes, then you’ll love this Shu Uemura nude one, featuring 16 easy to wear and easy to layer shades. You can achieve any look – from natural to full on ‘Lan-Kwai-Fong-smokey-night-out’ – with ease. It also includes a dual ended brush, making it the perfect purse pal. Prep in the morning with an office appropriate look, then toss it in your bag for amping it up on the go!

Available at all Shu Uemura counters. See here for all store locations.

feb beauty - pureearthPurearth Wild Rose Himalayan Mist
I don’t know what I would do without my rose mist from Purearth! I use this every day to set my make up once it has all been applied. When I am not wearing make up, I still spritz my face to add a refreshing feel and luxe gentle scent to the morning. The full size bottle rests on my vanity while a travel size one accompanies me on any plane rides that I may take. If that doesn’t make you feel good enough then maybe knowing all Purearth products are wild harvested, hand made, and fair trade will do the trick!

Available at these store locations in Hong Kong.

feb beauty - kiehlsKiehl’s Precision Lifting & Pore-Tightening Concentrate
I’m no spring chicken and while the laugh lines and forehead creases have stayed at bay for now, I know they are lurking deep within… so now is the time to preemptively fight them off! Enter this serum. It’s like my sword and shield in the battle against lines! Applied twice daily before moisturiser, it claims to visibly lift skin and help tighten pores. While I know no one product can reshape your face, this serum does make my skin feel more taught and plump. The difference feels even more pronounced when used the day after a few too many glasses of vino!

Available at all Kiehl’s stores in Hong Kong. See all store locations here
